SI.com - Writers - Bucky Brooks: Ten players on the decline - Thursday June 14, 2007 3:20PM (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/bucky_brooks/06/12/players.on.decline/index.html)
SHAWN SPRINGS, CB, WASHINGTON
A physically gifted player who never quite played up to his athleticism, Springs surprised many with his bounce-back performance in his first season in Washington. But that performance has been followed by two consecutive sub-par years. With his injury history and inconsistent confidence, Smith may never regain his status as an elite cover corner.
I don't think this to be an over-statement. I wish I did. The writer is just noting what we all know-- that Springs is a question mark. Smoot could easily be on that list, as well as a few linemen I know.
