I know I would love to have Leftwitch as an insurance policy.

I believe one of the reasons he may be released is the Jags want to avoid paying his $5.1 million base salary

That's what I'm thinking too. Maybe we could split it with them???

I think Leftwich is great (too many injuries though) and it would be hilariously ironic if we traded Brunell back to where he came from for the guy he was pushed out for in the first place.

However, I don't want him here. I don't want anyone who is a threat to Campbell. We ride or die with JC.

The enthusiasm there is nice. The problem, I think, is if something bad happens to JC do we want to ride or die with TC?

It's a gamble for sure. I would just rather not have someone breathing down Campbell's back. I'd rather have a steady veteran who is ready to play when needed but not itching to jump at the first starting opportunity in the league, which I think Leftwich would be looking to do.

Let's move the Leftwich discussion to the Leftwich thread. Thanks

collins has been a lot better so far in the PRESEASON.

brunell is still overpaid and not in the long term (ie next year's) plans, so getting something while ditching his contract is cool with me.

palmer straight up sucks though... he doesn't even look close to anything resembling good against 4th stringers. that's not going to be our answer at QB.

i do agree that the leftwich as insurance is a really bad idea, cause then you have 2 starters, and when that happens, you really don't have any, since the fanbase is unforgiving and has a trigger finger, while QBs need time.

it'd be a mess waiting to happen. we've got to go with our guy right now.

i like the guy too.he's a great qb,and he can't do anything right in some people's eyes, and that's fucked up, anyway you look at it.if he leaves,i wish him nothing but great things because he's a class act!is'nt byron leftwich about to be cut by the jags?is'nt he from dc?i can see him signing a 1 year deal and putting palmer on the taxi squad.
