I personally think we need to keep Brunell here. He's used to being a starter in the league and he knows this system. Between having him here and Collins who also knows the system really well, I feel secure with our depth at QB. If we deal MB away, then who's going to be the third QB (assuming Collins gets the nod at #2?) If both Campbell and Collins happen to go down to injury, would we be willing to throw in somebody like Palmer, or sign a QB off of another team that doesnt' know the offense? I say keep him.

On the other hand, if we do trade him away, see if we can get the Kendall pick back.

I would do it if we can get our Kendall pick back then maybe draft a quarterback with that pick. I still think that if god forbid Campbell goes down for a game or two Brunell would probably be our best bet.

I would agree that we need to keep MB and put Palmer on the practice squad. I feel better having two backup vets that know the system than a rookie that is shacky and someone that is off the street and does not know our system.

I'm surprised we haven't heard more Leftwich for Brunell trades. Jacksonville still likes Brunell (and there are rumors they are wanting him), and Leftwich is already out the door there.

So what happened to this "done deal" of Brunell to Seattle?

JLC said the Brunell to Seattle deal was actually just a phone call from Seattle's front office to make an inquiry, and it was blown way out of proportion.

Leftwich has a $5.1M base salary this year. We can't afford him. He's going to be difficult to trade.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want Leftwich, I think he sucks. There is a reason he lost his job.

With all this talk about trading Brunell, I am surprised to still see him here. The fact that we cut Palmer isn't good for trading Brunell either.

Which is why I believe Brunell stays here one more year. Next year, He'll either retire or go to another team.

We here on this site, act like being put on the practice squad is gold. How many good QB's have ever been on the practice squad?

He's got a great QB body and he's Carson's little bro. The potential is there. This is a complex offense, and both of our backups are 37 and likely done after this year. It would make sense to carry a QB on our practice squad who can learn the offense and be a roster QB next year.
