With the struggles the Dolphins have been facing this season(new coach, quarterback controversy, etc.) it shouldn't even be close. I'm saying 31 - 10 Redskins.
Then again, I was thinking the same thing before the opener last season...

Offense
I don't think there will be a vast improvement from our pre-season offense. Chris Samuels will struggle against Jason Taylor. There will be constant pressure on Jason Campbell, resulting in at least one fumble or INT. Even with Portis back, our running game will not get back on track against Miami's tough run D. I think we'll probably score on a big pass play to Santana Moss or ARE. Miami's pass D is suspect, but it's going to be hard for JC to step up into the pocket and find someone deep, but I think he will at least once during the game. I think Miami's D will come up with big plays when they need to and push us out of Suisam's range and the red zone, so I figure this to be a low scoring affair.
Defense
Our D is going to be nasty. Miami will have difficulty moving the ball on us. At best, they'll have three good drives. I think we'll get to Green for some sacks, but most likely it will be our DBs: Landry & Springs. I doubt will come up with any INTs, just a number of deflections. Miami will probably score off having good field position.
I hate to say it, but I think we're pretty evenly matched against the fins. This should be a nice defensive battle.
Glad I scanned through the posts before I put mine down....
Couldn't agree more about the offense. I see a low scoring game with Chris Cooley being the X-factor.
Look for Landry to make some big 3rd down stops. If Washington plays... expect 3-4 tackles in the back field. This defense is going to show up... Trent Green will not beat this defense deep. No completions over 20 yards... on the ground or in the air.

We find a way to get the running game going early. It continues throughout the game helping Jason to hit our receivers deep, and intermediate pass routes. Our "D" plays big all game and we come up with 2 turnovers. We out last the dolphins 21-10. and I'm going to be in attendance...anyone else going and what seats do ya'll have? Id luv to do a little warpath meet up if it is possible
I'm definitely feeling a close defensive battle.
Offenses: I think both offenses are going to have problems moving the ball, but I'd give the Skins the slight advantage here. The Dolphins are adjusting to a new coach, system and QB. And I definitely give the edge to our OL over theirs. I think they'll really struggle to the run the ball and we have enough between Portis and Betts to keep them honest.
Defenses: The edge here has to go to the Dolphins, though I do expect to see a much improved Redskins D. But until we see it, the Dolphins have the edge.
In the end I see a hard fought battle somewhere along the lines of...
Redskins 17
Dolphins 13

Skins 9, 'Phins 6
Defensive battle from the get-go. Neither offense gets going, and it comes down to which kicker can stay accurate.
Spread is 3 points towards the Skins right now. Over/Under around 35. Take the Skins and the Under.

The skins only TD comes from the D.

It's pretty obvious it will be a defensive game. Neither offense has gelled yet. I think it comes down to who has the better Defense. And that is MIAMI. I don't like predicting scores or games really. But I predict that Miami wins 24-10

My sentiments exactly. I really dont see why this should even be a contest...but like he said, I thought we'd ROMP Minnesota last and look what happened...I'm not going to make any bold predictions until I see this team play on Sunday...but I'm going in with a awful lot of confidence.

See I can listen to the argument that Miami has a better defense than us right now...but everyone here says its going to come down to the better defense and I disagree compeltley. The Redskins and Dolphins arent playing the same offense...I think the skins offense, while average at this point is ALOT better than Miami's...litterally every player at every position (maybe save Quarterback due to JC's inexperiance) I think its advantage Washington, and I think our defense against their offense is going to be a asskicking...while our offense against their defense is going to be a really tough contest.... but thats just me. We still really have no way of knowing until Sunday
