Is the defensive line back?

It seems like our D-line is stellar when we have Rogers and ST playing coverage. Nobody was complaining about our pass rush then. Now all of a sudden it is an issue again. Nobody is going to get pressure if the QB has huge holes in a defense to throw at. Keep talking trash about the Dline if you want, but I am more worried about our secondary. We started off the year with one of the most solid secondary's in the game, now we are just average. Thank you once again mr. injury bug.

Dear Santa, would you please tell Mr. Injury Bug to leave our entire team alone next season? If it is not possible, then at least stop taking out entire units at a time such as the offensive line, the secondary, and our WR corps.

The d-line was effective early in the season but regressed a bit in the four or so games leading up to Dallas, in which they did a great job stopping the run. Basically, I just repeated what you all said up to this pt, but I did it because I think Grif was the reason. He was dinged up w/ a back strain but seemed to have his mojo for Dallas.

The only weakness I see in the d-line is inconsistancy, especially not being able to stop the run and pressure the passer simultaneously. If Carter can get on another hot streak for the final six games and the rest stay healthy... good things people, good things.

They've been missing the last 4 weeks, and over that time period the run defense fell from 4th in efficiency to 21st. This week, they played a great game, shut down all of Barber's room to run, and pressured Romo.

Is the DL back, or was this just a one game thing?

The DL was weak in Dallas. They looked ok in the first half because Dallas had a bad snap and other fluke driver stoppers. They were helpless in the second half, obviously. We've got to score 30 to beat Tampa Bay.

Kiper has Chris Long as the third best player in the draft.

Were we watching the same game? The DL didnt get any pressure, Romo had all day, you have to hold the ball for quite a while in order to throw 50 yard bombs.

apparently you and i saw the samething...romo had all day..

I'd say that our defensive line is certainly performing better than last year, but that only brings them up to 'average'. Like someone else said, Carter is the only guy who gives us some semblance of pressure, and he is often neutralized.

The only time Tom Brady had problems was in Indianapolis, when Freeney and the rest of the Colts front four applied consistent pressure without having to blitz. And that's the key -- be able to get constant pressure from the two defensive ends, and leave everyone else in pass coverage. If I were the Jets, Bills, and Dolphins, I'd spend everything I have to find guys who can get in Brady's face.
