Well, there's no question that FedEx Field has never meant "Home Field Advantage" to the Redskins. Since the stadium has opened, they are just as likely to lose there as they are away.

But when you think about it, there's really only one truly intimidating stadium I can think of, and that's Quest Field where the Seahawks play. Every other place is tough only because the team is tough.

I don't Oakland has the Black Hole, Philly is tough, and Arrowhead is tough to play in too.

Other than the 2002 season, nobody's been intimidated to play at Oakland since the 1970's. And the Raiders just beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead. Those places, along with Philly are known to have pretty roudy fans, but besides that, I don't know if they really fit the "intimidating" label.

I know one thing, Fed Ex doesn't come anywhere near that label. Assemble yourself a better team that always wins at home, then your stadium is suddenly tough to play at.

I went to a game against the Giants in the 80's where Dexter Manley had 4 sacks during two three-and-out series. The poor Giants left offensive tackle had zero chance of hearing a snap count, so he lost any edge as Dexter blew by him play after play. RFK was a scary place for other teams during those days.

I would love to see the Skins move back to DC. The rumors I've heard is a 125,000 seat stadium, with a retractable roof on the current RFK site. That would be awesome. The site of RFK is easily assessable for all Skins fans and direct metro access is much more accommodating and the atmosphere at FedEx is not that great.

Can't happen for at least 20 years .It would cost the Danny one hell of alot of money to get out of Maryland.

Your right I forgot that Jack Kente Cooke built it, which would explain why it had it's name on it in the beginning. I was at the first game ever played in FedEx Field but I was rather small and probably didn't know much of what was going on (I was in 1st grade or 2nd grade), I still have the tickets though.

if memory serves it wasn't named for Cooke until after he died. RFK was great. many memories there, I personaly would hate to see it go. I grew up seeing the old Diplomats play soccer there, the skins and the Dead every summer. that place is part of my life. I understand the need for progress and realize that it can't stand forever. But I will be sad when it is gone.

On another note. Back in October while on the metro on my way with my son to his first game, we came out of the ground right by RFK and he asked what it was, I told him what it was and shared some memories, which sparked the whole car and everyone was talking about RFK memories the rest of the ride.

The Stadium was named "Redskins Stadium" by JKC. After his death it was changed to Jack Kente Cooke Stadium by his son. Snyder changed it to Fed/Ex Stadium.

RFK was louder and more fun I think and the Stadium and Team needs to come back to Wash DC. Tear down the old RFK build a stadium like Dallas is and attract the Super Bowl. Sell the old stadium and land for zillions.

Yeah, knock down RFK, and erect Sean Taylor Field in its place.

Think its a requirement to have a covered field for a SuperBowl.. So Danny would have to either build a dome or a stadium with a retractable roof to have a chance at his dream.

Yep the suits at the NFL are scared to death of a game being uncomfortable for folks (businesses) so you better either be a warm weather destination or have a dome.
