Joe Gibbs will finish out his contract. I pray for more, but if he's moved to Team President or GM or CEO or whatever title they give him after this season I'm ok with that. I do think we should stay with Williams and Saunders... We will win with the triumvert! IN GIBBS WE TRUST, REDSKINS WILL WIN; WE MUST!!!

Honestly he needs to stay ,he's in the HOF for a reason if anything you need to dump Vinny and Danny.

Are you really fucking serious? Or are you just trying to be some little annoying 12 year old? Im being serious, are you trying to be sarcastic or not? If your not, then brother you need to get your head from out of your ass, and hurry up about it. Do you really, truly, actually believe that this team did what they did WITHOUT leadership, from the only man, probaly in the entire NFL, that could have guided and lead this team thru such tradgedy? Are you really, truly, actually suggesting a younger, fiery kind of whipper snapper that you prefer would have been able to do anything slightly resembling what Coach Gibbs did? I think that is the stupidist thing Ive heard so far this year, and what sucks is its only the 7th. I usually dont respond to such horse shit as this, and you can call it your opinon, its still horseshit, but I just couldnt 'step away from the computer' on this one.

Thank you. Nicely put.

I really did think this team was going to crash & burn after Gibbs gaffe vs Buffalo (I was wrong) but TC came in and suddenly injected life in an otherwise dead team and the rest is history. I knew after the ST murder that Gibbs would be back but since Gibbs is gone after next year anyway I thought it would be better to get the precess going now instead of later. No doubt making the playoff is better than not but IMO this team made the playoffs in spite of Gibbs not because of him.

You forgot to mention Tomlin who did make the playoffs. The coaches you name all coached bad teams. If the Skins are half as good as most on this board think a young coach would have no problem guiding this talent-filled organization to the playoffs. I have no doubt this organization will hire a "name" coach as this is what the orgfanization & fans demand.

You might want to expand on that a bit and give us a clearer rationale as to why you think that, because as it is right now it sounds pretty damn ridiculous. Especially when it seems that every player that is asked about it says that Gibbs was the glue and steadying force that held the team together during the Taylor tragedy. This sounds like 2005 all over again with some people deflecting due credit away from Gibbs for any success the team has.

Gibbs kept making all the usual gaffes (poor clock mgmt and overall sideline confusion) then the ST murder happened and JC got hurt. IMO the team leaders like Portis & Smoot rose up and brought this team together and extolled them to play for ST. That kind of thing can only come from a player not a coach. Collins got the O rolling with AS calling the plays and GW had the D humming, Gibbs just got out of the way and let everyone else do their thing.

But if we had Brian Billick or Bill Cowher under the same circumstances with the same results you would have said "Look at the fiery coach taking charge!"

I dont think so. Cowher and Billick would not have been smart enough to get out of the way.

So then you admit that Gibbs was the best coach for this situation.

Couldn't disagree more.

Leadership starts at the top and works it's way down. Gibbs' calm and steadying influence undoubtedly played a role in the teams turnaround and 4 game run. I don't understand how you can downplay that. Sounds like another lame excuse to deflect credit away from Gibbs.
