He's coming back.
I'm really not concerned.
I really hope and have thought the same, that he would come back and coach at least one more year.
However, the presser left me not as certain as I was a couple of days ago. He did say he made a trip home to a family event. I'm sure his mind is made up one way or the other. Hopefully we won't have to wait long to get the news.
Did you catch the presser?

I hope he comes back as well. He just left me a little puzzled after that press conference. Maybe he just wants to make sure that he gets that extension before he announces that he's staying.

I want Gibbs to come back. I don't think the Redskins would be the same without Gibbs. He is like a father figure to all the players including us (fans). Even when the Redskins had tough times or made mistakes, he would never yell like other coaches do. I would miss that if he left. He is a nice guy, and I want him to stay.

Here's JLa's take on the press conference......
People inside the organization were definitely thrown off by Gibbs's noncommittal nature, but no one has seen indication that he will actually leave.
Everyone I spoke to thinks this is a bit of a negotiationing process here, and Joe doesn't want to say much he gets something worked out with Snyder on an extension - assuming they do get it worked out.

$7 million a year for years 6 and 7 doesn't sound bad to me. It appears that the sticking point may be what happens with his staff years 6 and 7.
I keep telling myself I'd be ok if he left, but really I don't want him to leave yet.
Not worried about the Campbell comments. Campbell has nowhere to go, Collins on the other hand might. I think he's just trying to show Collins some love to keep him around...as a backup.

Joe always plays his cards close to the vest. I just can't see him stepping down unless there's some major personal issue going on with him. I don't think he'll run the risk of alienating a lot of fans who will be extremely upset with him for not fulfilling his 5 year commitment.

I read on washingtonpost.com this morning that Gibbs will take a few weeks and talk with his family before fully commiting verbally

When Joe was stepping down back in the early 90's how did he go about doing it?
I think he is coming back for at least one more year but then again we really don't know if he has the desire to continue coaching.

Why can't he just say, "I intend to fulfill my current contract. Beyond that, we'll see."
It's not that hard. C'mon Coach. You're killing me.
