Why Snyder should take his time

I understand that Dan is keeping Joe on as an "advisor" so maybe he can get in his ear and get him to make the decision based on the best guy to continue where Joe left off and not another opportunity to spend a gazillion on a "big name" coach. I don't want to see another Spurrier debacle nor have to start from the ground up again. Sign Willams to a 2-3 year deal and lets see what he can do.
And PLEASE.... no Pete Carroll!!! I have heard his name mentioned as well.

I agree...Spurrier never learned how to adjust (never wanted to if you ask me), but Carroll has adjusted in the past, and could again.

Sure, while we're at it why not steal away Parcells from Miami and make him our defensive coordinator?

You guys simply do not realize that with Cower comes 3-4 defense, and most likely new defensive coaches. GW isn't gonna want to to sit around if Cower comes, then it's his time to part ways and shine somewhere else in the NFL.

There is no way Cower will come as head coach, and not even touch the defense or offense. What would be the point/motivation for him to coach then? Cower will obviously want some kind of influence and that starts with the defense.


Also most people think Cower is some kind of God, but it did take what over a decade along with a patience owner to win a SuperBowl. I don't think we have either.

Not comparing as much as just indicating my wish for a well thought out decision. Carroll in my opinion is not the answer, nor is Cowher.
But if you insinuate that a 33-31 record as head coach in the NFL (per Wikipedia) is what we want, then Pete Carroll is the man.
He did have some success with a divisional championship in N.E. but was fired 2 times in 5 years (deservedly?...maybe not) and don't see what has changed since 1999.
I actually like Carroll quite a bit and appreciate what he has done at USC but don't think he is the man.

I don't typically point out spelling errors, but it's Cowher. FYI.

My point of replying to you is to point out that Cowher was 11-5 IN HIS FIRST SEASON. He took the Steelers to the Super Bowl in his 4th season (and compiled a 43-21 record in that span). He had only 3 losing seasons in 15 years. That's impressive.
Hey, I'm not saying go with Cowher, I want to keep it in house, but if we did get Cowher, we would be getting a winner.

I think continuity is often overlooked. You have big names such as, Cowher on the list. But all in all, the players like GW and I think he deserves his shot as the redskins next head coach. I am not 100% sure that he will be successful from the get go, but I do think he can build upon what we have and eventually be a successful coach as a redskin.

He deserves his shot and he's qualified i believe.

But he's got some damn big shoes to fill and a huge shadow casting over him...

As has already been mentioned by several, let me reiterate. The LAST thing we need is ANOTHER rebuilding process,and ANOTHER new regime!

Maybe not. They both excel in recruiting kids and have systems that work better in college than the NFL. He was 33-31 in the NFL, fired from both jobs fairly quickly. He's better off staying in college and going down as one of the better college coaches of all time than failing in the pros again.

I pray we don't hire him, or ANY college coach.

Gregg Williams is the best possible choice.
