hucklebee is really the only rep. still in the race. and he is quickly being pushed aside.

God Huckabee is the most primitive type of person ever. He doesn't believe in anything. No gay marriage? Fine I can live with that. But don't take away the civil unions. I think if he had his way he'd probably just segregate the USA all over again. And then try his hardest to erase the line between church and state. And shit, that's blurred already. Not a Christian? Well you will be if Huckabee gets in the White House. Which he won't thank God.

I can't wait till that generation dies out. (Not the people. More so that uber southern conservative thinking). I'm ready for some more progression, not regression.

I could bitch about Huckabee all day. I'd rather see McCain, Romney, Paul and maybe undead Reagan again before Huckabee.

]how do you know this[/B] ? do you live in iraq, do you work for the iraq government , are you involved in the meetings between our government and the iraq government ? please don't just tell me that you heard it or read it somewhere.
if it was that urgent, would they have taken a 2 week break in the middle of the summer? those guys enjoying a summer vacation while our troops fought, and some died, for that piece of shit country. that's how i know

I don't think it's fair to saying the Iraqis are getting a free ride. An awful lot of Iraqis (or worse, their families) have been killed for working with the National Government, police, or U.S. forces. Just as Bush was being unrealistic for expecting us to be greeted with flowers by most Iraqis, many members of the anti-war crowd are being unrealistic in expecting there to be such rapid political progress.

To me, the "free ride" talk is purely political and it is reminiscent of the GOP talking about welfare moms. It's not useful or accurate.

The notion that the ideas you don't like will magically disappear is one of the main reasons your side can never maintain any momentum. You have to engage opposing viewpoints with vigorous argument. You can't wish them away.

you can always claim your not a christian, if you don't agree with them. right now , according to you, there are 2 parties. the ultra conservatives, and the very liberals. no in between. that's one reason people like you hate John McCain. he has showed the ability to break down party affiliates, and try to work towards a common goal. for some reason, that really rubs you the wrong way. working towards whats best for America, as opposed to whats best for my party, should be how its done. but Mr Bush strictly followed his party's agenda, and its put us in one helluva mess, don't you think?

I have no problem with John McCain. I prefer a second-rate Fireman to first-rate arsonist.

As for the idea that I believe in no "in between", guilty as charged. I am not discomfited, as so many on the left seem to be, by defending my ideas or engaging opposing viewpoints in vigorous debate. This is the very essence of democracy. When people express a desire to "move beyond politics", it is generally because they find dissent to be an annoyance and can't be bothered to make their case in an organized and reasoned manner.

Furthermore what really "rubs me the wrong way" is poor grammar. Sentence fragments, dangling participles, and slovenly punctuation greatly undermine your already weak position.

I've seen you post several things along these lines. IMO, its totally uncalled for. It is a claim that should be proved with facts or evidence. Otherwise, it is simply disgusting FUD that does not belong here.
