I was Gibbs that drafted Taylor and went after MB.

Close -- Portis and Taylor sent Gibbs a fruit basket apparently, but Greg Williams begged Gibbs to draft Taylor. Gibbs reportedly wanted KWII. Lucky for us, we were in a can't miss situation, but we made the right choice.

Vinny being in control is a good thing. He's on the clock now...if he fails he goes if he wins he stays. He can't hide in the background and survive one house cleaning after another now. At least that's my hope.

I fully agree with you about our poor draft record in the later rounds. I have been upset about this and the fact we do not have a well regraded GM for years.
However my real issue with this subject is Dan Snyder's hypocrisy: Danny fires coaches (Marty) after one season because they did not produce or coach Williams because nobody knows? He cuts players when they do not produce. However he does not hold his Front Office accountable with the same kind of scrutiny?
It wasn't until Gibbs took over that we started to see some improvement.
The biggest sign of failure by our FO is the fact the we only have three players from 2001, 2002 and 2003 drafts: Fred Smoot, Ledell Betts and Rock Cartwright, not what I would call pro bowl caliber players. Only three guys. Keep in mind we were not a good team during these years:
2001 8-8
2002 7-9
2003 5-11

So please do not reply with we were a talented team so that is why draft picks did not make the team.
The truth is we have had some terrible drafts under Snyderatto. Why do they not get graded and dismissed from their player personnel responsibilities? My guess is ego. Danny wants to call all the shots and Cerratto is the only person that will take the job as second fiddle.

I know there are many people on this site who disagree with this post. So i'll come out and make the following prediction:

1 My beloved skins will finish last in the NFC east in 2008
2 We will be picking in the top 12 of of the 2009 Draft (that is of course if synder doesn't get drunk at a bar with some nfl agents and trade away the pick)

I do not like that a moderator and others are resorting to name calling, calling people or their ideas "ignorant and retarded" is not what this web page should be about. I enjoy reading other people's opinions on the Redskins whether I agree with them or not. I do not like when it resorts to childish name calling and one upsmanship.
We do not all have to agree and think Cerratto and Snyer are great.I have been a huge Redskins fan for over 40 years. I do not have to be a Snyder or Cerratto fan.
