Looks like he left for Tampa earlier this afternoon.
Hackett Visits Redskins Park (http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=34834)
I'd like to see us get something done with him, but it appears we're not "breaking the bank" for him (which is a good thing). Hopefully he and Skins have a gentleman's agreement to give the Skins an opportunity to match any offer he gets from Tampa.
How do you know he left for Tampa?

In the link, third paragraph, it mentions "Hackett departed Redskins Park on Thursday afternoon. He was expected to travel to Tampa Bay to visit with the Buccaneers..."

Only if he liked the vibe he got from VC and DS. If we aren't throwing money at FAs anymore (which I like), it will be interesting to see where we really stand in the eyes of FAs.

According to PFT (http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/), Hackett got an offer from the Redskins, rejected it, and moved onto Tampa Bay.

Wow a free agent rejected a Redskins offer, he must have been kinda pissed that we werent throwing him a 7 year 35 million dollar deal.

this is the other side of being fiscally responsible. everybody on this board would play for the Skins for a nickel, but if we aren't throwing cash around anymore, a lot more FAs are going to enjoy their plane ride and dinner, and then move on.
