Is Taylor a monster or what?

Taylor indeeds looks like the real deal. He's a playmaker and is always around the ball it seems. If he can keep his head on straight, he should be a force for the Skins defense for years to come.

As for Champ, he WAS (key work WAS) one of the premier corners in the league. But he definitely had an off year last year and was beat often as he laid off his man way too far. But the whole team sucked last year so Champ having an off-year playing with that team and for that group of coaches is not that surprising. I look for him to have a really good year for Denver.

No one ever really seems to be bothered by this as much as me, but... CHAMP DIDN'T LIKE TO TACKLE. Taylor sure as hell seems to enjoy that tiny little part of the game a shit load more.

Taylor is the real deal and that is the bottom line.Im not saying that he wont have problems with some of the recievers he faces but he is a natural and wont take long to fill in the rest.

I also watched the game on the nfl network (thank you again seasonticketholder)and found there bias to be blatent and laughable.At the end of the first Quarter they said they had good drives and I was like wich one the first that ended up as a turnover or all the rest that ended with a punt.

Champ Bailey is the premier cornerback in the NFL and most of you are bitter that he spurned the Redskins this offseason and because of the things he said about the team. He is the best, hands down.

jdlea, I have to respectfully disagree about Champ being the best hands down.. As I've said many times on this subject, he didn't stop the other team from throwing to their #1 receiver, when they did throw that way he didn't make them pay for it.. Ty Law, Chris McAllister, when healthy Charles Woodson are all corners I'd take over Champ.. They make plays to change the game.. His interceptions decreased from his 1st 2 years while his passes defended remained consistent so teams were still throwing his way with the same regularity.. He has 1 career sack and 4 career fumble recoveries and 1 career TD in his rookie year. That is a good, but not great, corner in the NFL and certainly not the best.

don't those guys work with better D-lines??? our defense was on the field a long time each game, and our pass rush sucked, and both of those things makes corners look worse than they are...

I seem to remember us having a dodgy D and an aneamic O during the Norv years. However, I still remember DG returning passes for TD's and shutting WR's down.

I'm not saying Bailey isn't good, but a shutdown corner is still a shutdown corner regardless of the rest of the D.

Champ is a top corner without a doubt, but he hardly ever made the big pick to stop a drive, or take a pick back for a TD.

I agree completely - in fact he brings several elements. Champ was weak when he had to come up against the run. Taylor is built and hits like a LB. He is a ball hawk - all over the field. And the play that amazed me the most, was Taylor staying right with Chambers, their #1 WR, all the way into the end zone. For a guy with that build, he has amazing cover skills. And lastly, he has AMAZING reflexes. did you notice how fast he grabbed that fumble off the ground? Most players don't SEE it that fast, let alone react that quickly. I know it's early and we've just seen him on the field very little, but this guy seems truely amazing.

The only thing I disagree with is Champ's tackling. For a corner he was a pretty solid tackler, I know he said that he didn't like to do it, but he wasn't afraid to stick his nose in a play, not like Deion who seemed to be literally afraid of contact.

Also, comparing a safety and a corner in the tackling department really isn't fair. A safety is supposed to be able to tackle and support the run D, while a corner doesn't play into the run D as heavily as the safety.
