Canada: Man decapitated on busMTK 08-06-2008, 08:44 AM alright let's get it back on track RedskinRat 08-06-2008, 09:14 AM Could someone please wheel this old man away from the computer. he is embarrassing himself. Nurse! Nurse! Excellent! You make no valid point, but try to suggest that I'm too old to be right. Mredskins, please post evidence of a decline in violence in the US since the 60's and liberalism and we'll discuss it. I'll save you the effort, you can't. Kids today, eh? Not good for much. Matty, back on track? We all agree beheading is anti-social, some even agree that it's wrong. I'd just like to better understand why most people think it's OK not to try to step in. I'm sure we can keep it civilized even though I'm being insulted. :Smoker: MTK 08-06-2008, 09:24 AM I think there have been some good thoughts expressed here as to why people didn't step in. I don't think it's got anything to do with living in a PC world. It boils down to instincts and the fight or flight response to survival. And in the end what is the point of judging those that were on the bus? They witnessed pure evil that day and I'm sure plenty of them have second guessed themselves in the days following. I don't think there was any right or wrong decision made that day. If someone here would have choosen differently more power to you. I just don't see what the point is in second guessing what they did or didn't do. jdlea 08-06-2008, 10:01 AM I think there have been some good thoughts expressed here as to why people didn't step in. Also, the kid never really stood a chance, he was 30 mins away from a shock trauma center and I'm pretty sure he was pretty much done after being stabbed once, so you're going to risk your life to save him from decapitating a corpse? That's pretty noble, but I think it would more than likely cause your death... MTK 08-06-2008, 10:13 AM Yeah, and I don't think there's any doubt we'd be talking about multiple killings if people had stepped in. Also, the kid never really stood a chance, he was 30 mins away from a shock trauma center and I'm pretty sure he was pretty much done after being stabbed once, so you're going to risk your life to save him from decapitating a corpse? That's pretty noble, but I think it would more than likely cause your death... Exactly. We should also commend the people for keeping this guy on the bus until the police arrived. From the moment this maniac decided to plunge a knife into this kid he never stood a chance. By the time someone could have realized what was going on and reacted he was probably already dead or very close to it. RedskinRat 08-06-2008, 10:34 AM CCW, *cough*, *cough*...... MTK 08-06-2008, 10:38 AM What is CCW? SmootSmack 08-06-2008, 10:55 AM What is CCW? Carry concealed weapon, I think MTK 08-06-2008, 11:02 AM Still don't see where that would matter. The kid still would have been dead or very critical by the time someone could have shot this guy. jdlea 08-06-2008, 11:09 AM Still don't see where that would matter. The kid still would have been dead or very critical by the time someone could have shot this guy. It would have been nice to drop the guy with a gun, but it still wouldn't have brought the kid back. |
