skinsfan69 08-17-2008, 09:46 PM Nope, I saw them, and I also saw the last two seasons... He's inconsistent, as usual.
Considering the guy has to learn a new offense every year, and on top of that has average to below average NFL wr's, I think he's been pretty solid so far. I think Zorn will take his game to the next level. But you have to realize that it might not happen this year.
Lady Brave 08-17-2008, 09:59 PM I think this game was a nice little reality check. We played flat for the most part and not finishing those drives is a concern. I'm hoping to see a bit more inspired play against the Panthers.

The whole team is inconsistent, as usual over the last two seasons.

....actually if you look at the second half the 2007 season through this preseason, the Redskins are one of the hottest teams in football.
12thMan 08-17-2008, 11:41 PM I really hate to beat this horse to death, but let's look at Jason Campbell's class.
1 Smith, Alex
2 Rodgers, Aaron
3 Campbell, Jason
4 Frye, Charlie
5 Walter, Andrew
6 Orton, Kyle
7 Greene, David
8 McPherson, Adrian
9 Orlovsky, Dan
10 Fitzpatrick, Ryan
11 Anderson, Derek

JC & Derek Anderson are definitely the top 2 in this class.

That's kind of my point. A few of those guys aren't even playing football any longer.
hesscl34 08-18-2008, 10:10 AM Bottom line, anyone who has watched the Skins over the past season, this preseason included, and their saying we need to trade Campbell needs their head checked.
I don't think anyone has said we should trade Campbell. I just think a lot of us see this year as his do or die year. It's time to prove his worth.
freddyg12 08-18-2008, 10:16 AM Brennan is insurance if JC does not pan out in the next 2 seasons. 2 more seasons and JC should be up to snuff, if not he can probably be chalked up as a failed experiment. I doubt that will happen, but who knows. By week 7 we will know if he h as truly improved over last season.
I don't think that was the intention when they drafted him, though I guess w/any backup you can call them "insurance" as they might win the starting job. I think the hope was that Colt would be a reliable young backup in a couple years, which the team has needed for a long time. We've had some decent backups but none that are young & developing like he is.
The fact that he was taken in the 6th round shows that they're not investing a lot in the position & don't want to create camp competition for JC.

It still doesn't change the fact that the Skins have been inconsistent. JC hasn't been the only player over the last two seasons that hasn't been consistent. I felt last year the Skins (not GB) should have been competing with the Boyz for the top spot in the NFC. The reason the Skins lost seven games wasn't solely due to JC, but the Skins being inconsistent. The Skins should have won 5 out of the 7 games they lost last year. The GB, Philly, and NY games, JC was on his JOB and they still lost. The Philly game JC had three TDs(zero int) without a starting receiver.(Yes he threw an int in GB game, but Favre threw 2 and had 0 TDs.) I will even say for most the the Dallas game JC was on his JOB. I don't understand why some of you are ready to throw JC under the bus. If we going to the JC under the bus, then we need to start throwing some of his teammates with him.
