To play devil's advocate, how much of this do you think is due to lack of faith in Brooks right now?
that, and if the skins don't convert that fourth down play. but it is nice to play to win, and not to lose. i like the aggressiveness

I really don't think that had anything to do with it. Zorn has shown he trusts his players and will go for the throat, I think that was the case yesterday.

I don't think that has much to do with it. If Brooks was that bad, wouldn't we have tried to cut our losses with him and at the very least brought other punters in for a workout? These very short 4th downs we're going for are really in keeping with the style of playcalling Zorn has shown overall.

I agree. It had nothing to do with the punter. Plus how great of a call was that? Zorn had the field spread out and ran the ball out of shotgun. We never ever ever did that in the past. If that was last year we would've punted. But let's say we did go for it we would've been in jumbo package and the defense would know we were running to the left. Two times yesterday we ran the ball out of shotgun when the defense wasn't expecting it.

Ill be honest after the Giants game I thought Coach Z was a bonehead. I retract that. And I trully believe hes a great coach. The team has really taken to this offense. And hes running the football.

me too i was cusing Danny for hiring him and Vinny too

Joe Gibbs probably left because of the stress of the game, including Sean Taylor's death, and as has been said, Joe handled that better than any of us could have. There were other incidents that happened, like the constant criticism of his hand-picked quarterback, Mark Brunell, which didn't help his judgment of when a player has given all he can give, which I believe Brunell did. He brought in Brandon Lloyd who failed miserably and cost the Redskins two very high draft picks. But JG was a decent man and a great football coach in the 80's and 90's. After he left the first time, the Redskins were never the same kind of team...until now. Jim Zorn is the new coach and he's full of fresh ideas and innovative plays. It's a thrill to watch games again and not worry about Norv Turner, Marty S. or Steve Spurrier.

I thought Dan Snyder gave us what we wanted and needed in Spurrier. The sports writers and sports casters all were highly critical of Snyder, but he was just trying to win. All I can say is I'm glad that Jim Zorn is not another Spurrier.

Lets not forget that Gibbs built this team. Last year our team was decimated by injuries and somehow he willed us into the playoffs. Lets also give praise to Dan Snyder for bringing us Jim Zorn and never putting money infront of winning.

Well said!! What a difference a healthy OL makes in the running and passing game + a healthy Santana Moss who people were saying was washed up last year.

I love Zorn, did since his first press conference (go maroon and black!). But does anyone think he could have stepped into the mess left behind by Spurrier (as Gibbs did) and had the success he is currently having? I don't.

As hess so eloquently said in another thread - Gibbs gave the team heart, Zorn is making it beat.

Here is a little comment from ESPN. Talks about what Gibbs did for this team. Also if you want to read the whole article as it is about JC, I have provided the link...

"I'm thrilled for Jason Campbell and the rest of the guys on offense," said Saunders, now the offensive coordinator in St. Louis. "The thing Joe [Gibbs] did was bring together a group of high-character, great work-ethic guys. To see Jason come back from his injury and maturing like that, it's great to see. I said when I got there that there was no limit to what he could do. With all the offenses he's been through, he's able to process information quickly, break it down to things he can understand and apply it on the field. I'm just thrilled for him. He's a true professional."

ESPN - Campbell deserves our praise - NFC East (http://myespn.go.com/blogs/nfceast/0-4-40/Campbell-deserves-our-praise.html)
