[quote=BDBohnzie;489261]The Skins saw was a combination of pride and desperation can do. However, the Rams didn't win this ball game, the Skins lost it. Mental errors and mistakes cost the Redskins the game.
Hopefully they can look past it, sure up the mistakes, and play focused next week.[/quot
Not to be a dick about what you said but some people on here were mad because Dallas and the Eagles wouldn't admit defeat. They kept saying something along the lines of ....." The better team didn't win," "The Redskins didn't win the game Dallas gave it away."
I know you probably were not one of the ones complaining about the not showing the Skins respect theory but we can't have it both ways. They beat us. They used a little ingenuity by getting into our heads and taking us out of our game but they did it. They won. Lets move on.

We expected to blow the Rams out today, and the way the defense played (although they dropped two very easy INTs), you would have thought we beat them 20-3.
Now, the offense did get consistently beaten by the Rams in pass protection. But that's the ONLY place that we underperformed expectations, and I believe it's totally unreasonable to expect every unit to play it's best game every week. Plus, the Rams DL did not look like a 0-4 DL. They played really great when we weren't attacking them in the running game.
Two of the turnovers we had, IMO, were a result of the success we were having. Cooley was trying to get YAC, something that he's very good at, and got the ball stripped. Campbell could have fallen on the bad snap from Rabach, but the way Campbell had been playing, if he had fielded it cleanly, don't you just believe that we would have found an open WR? I feel that way.
Simultaneously our O-line did not look like a 4-1 line in pass protection...

Execution Execution Execution.
Uh....I mean they poorly executed NOT that we should execute any of the players...well...maybe...no...no....not that
I saw good effort but just all around poor execution and lack of concentration. That can be fixed. They proved they can do it already this year and hopefully they will learn from this....another cliche I know...but...sometimes they fit.

Don't underestimate the Browns, they have more talent than the Rams and Lions combined and will beat the Giants tomorrow night
I guess I called that one.

GTripp,
That is certainly not true.
Our kicking game was horrible,
Kickoffs out of bounds, punting? punt coverage, kickoff coverage?
Hell, the kicking game plus turnovers seemed to give them the ball at midfield to start....I consider major kicking blunders almost as bad as a turnover.
As we learned from Shottenheimer, field position and defense can win games.
The defense was solid....
But, who won the coaching?
Saunders knew what to expect on that last play and he knew who which receiver would have the nickle back and they threw to him.
It is true that the Skins essentially shut down the running game and even the passing game all day, but awesome field position always kept the Rams 1 big play away from victory.
The only reason we shouldn't seriously consider cutting Brooks at this point is because the Skins have not groomed a backup QB as holder.
As I said in preseason, they should have done this to give them more flexibility with who to keep as punter....now, we are kinda stuck with this guy that may take a half a season to figure it out....if he keeps it up, we just may lose a game because of him....
And I love Swishy but, hasn't he kicked out of bounds twice this year?
I am not sure, but that is inexcusable.
What is worse is the special teams coaching, why even try a corner kick if your kicker struggles with that?...last game they pooched one late giving the opposition the ball at the 40...and what the hell is with the coverage units?
I say put every LB on the squad in there, something is definately wrong.
Fumbles happen.
2 of 3 of them shouldn't have if the skins fell on them...and they would have won because of it....this is basic.
Kicking coverage teams stink right now...and that is a major factor in why we lost.Okay, I can give you the kicking/punt coverage being awful, and it's a very good point. But that was a big issue vs. the teams we beat as well, and we did play well enough to overcome it.
I agree that field position makes a big difference in how many points you score/give up, but the biggest problem in field position was the turnovers. Punt coverage was important, but secondary.
