Colin Powell endorses ObamaMTK 10-20-2008, 10:54 PM Rush is a total crackpot. Anyone who takes him seriously needs to get their head examined. MTK 10-20-2008, 11:01 PM Everyone should watch the Colin Powell clip. A very thorough, rational, and level headed thought process. We need more folks like him in office. Hog1 10-21-2008, 03:00 PM Everyone should watch the Colin Powell clip. A very thorough, rational, and level headed thought process. We need more folks like him in office. Unfortunately.....we will not be getting him. Not now at least redsk1 10-21-2008, 03:10 PM No secret that I lean republican, usually but not all of the time. That being said I can't stand Rush L. dmek25 10-21-2008, 03:22 PM whats the difference between what Limbaugh said, and Don Imus? what a buffoon. and Colin Powell just reeks of class, and intelligence. i guess there isn't any place for guys his caliber in public office MTK 10-21-2008, 03:34 PM Powell is the kind of moderate Republican I could actually consider voting for. SmootSmack 10-21-2008, 05:30 PM Powell is the kind of moderate Republican I could actually consider voting for. I work with his daughter. Lucky me! I thought Powell was an absolute lock to be either the Presidential or VP nominee both in 1996 and in 2000. But what you wrote about Powell, many said about McCain just a year ago. Unfortunately those of us who are moderate Republicans are being gradually pushed away from our party and I thought that maybe a relatively moderate Republican like McCain would remind people such as myself that we are important to the the party and should feel welcomed. Instead he appealed to the far right by selecting Sarah Palin to be his VP. And it's not the selection of Palin specifically that bothers me, it's that I feel McCain caved and did what he didn't want to do. If I'm not confident he can stand up to his own party even at his own expense, how can I know he'll do it across party lines? Across international lines? Or is it safe to say "well he's done it before, why can't he do it again?" Well he's not doing it during the most important months of his career. And that's really disapponting to me. I think it's disappointing to Powell to and I hope that his words and a possible loss in two weeks will serve as a wake up call to the GOP so that in 2012 I can vote again for the Republican candidate...Rell/Schwarzenegger 2012!!! BleedBurgundy 10-21-2008, 05:33 PM Powell seems to be pretty clear on this, not much to say positive for McCain and not a single negative to say about Obama. I'm surprised it took him so long to announce this decision, since I'd wager he's been 98% sure for some time. Slingin Sammy 33 10-21-2008, 05:40 PM I work with his daughter. Lucky me! I may be wrong, but I believe we'll need a Constitutional Ammendment before you can vote for that ticket.
