dmek25 10-23-2008, 12:52 PM about the money, i really don't see a problem with Palin getting outfitted for the potential job. would people rather she paraded around in wal- mart stuff? but, im sure there are people around here that were screaming about Bill Clinton's $500.00 hair cut...
dmek25 10-23-2008, 12:55 PM politics is where the money is . how did obama raise 150 million in one month sounds kind of fishy to me. who gave him that kind of money arabs?chinese?
well, since he is a Muslim, and pals around with terrorists, its probably the Arabs. this is about a dumb a post as i have seen around here in quite some time

I concur.

Why not if she champions herself as an everyday kind of person who is looking out for Joe Six Pack or Joe the 'insert blue collar occupation here'? Just seems hypocritical to me.
Well if I'm correct he states he is against it but thinks its a state issue. Those clips can cut off what ever they don't want you to hear and I don't think gay marriage is the big issue Americans face today. I did not miss the point about Gore but I did notice your double standard. You still have not answered the question I have asked now about 5 time about Obama's pork spend and all the pork he has asked for over the short time he has been in office. So does it not concern you that he has asked for over 900 million in pork spending and he thinks it is so great that he even list the pork projects on his web site?
Heck on his own web site he talks about cutting spending and waistful prok spending.Barack Obama and Joe Biden: The Change We Need | Fiscal (http://www.barackobama.com/issues/fiscal/#restore-discipline)
Problem is here on his same site he brags about all the prok projects he has tried to get passed.Obama Announces FY08 Federal Funding Requests | U.S. Senator Barack Obama (http://obama.senate.gov/press/070621-obama_announces_3/)
dude if you wanna talk about that stuff, go ahead and start up your own thread on it. You're the one that immediately tried to switch gears in this thread from Palin's $150k wardrobe, which I guess you don't have a problem with, to pork spending. I'm just staying on topic.
I don't have a double standard. On Gore I was talking about the issue only, totally independent of Gore. So yes, you missed the point and continue to it seems.

So you won't answer the question because its not on topic here in the parking lot and none of the threads every get off topic? You didn't have a problem answering the Gore thing (off topic) but for some unknown reason cannot answer the Obama pork spending question.I also think it is on topic because its about spending and you questioned Palin and the Rep. so I just put the ball back in your court. To answer your question. No, I don't have a problem with what they have spent on her clothing because it is not my money nor tax payers that purchased her clothing. You keep on bringing up Joe six pack but he is not running for office and is not the one in need to look great for several months while campaining. I look at my own wife's clothing and see what she hanging in the closet and just kind of shake my head. I think allot of women spend way too much on clothing and none of them are running for VP of the US. I bet if you asked most guys they would say that women in general spend too much on clothing and that they take up more than 90% of the closet place in their home.
I don't have a major problem with his pork requests. He's been upfront about it, he hasn't lied about it like others have, and the majority of his requests have been for education, non-profit groups, and social services. And his requests are a drop in the bucket when compared to what the gov't spends.
If we want to seriously cut costs, how about getting the F out of Iraq for starters?

I think this thread is going in all sorts of directions and if we start talking about Iraq again it's just going to go even farther off course.
I don't want to talk about Iraq either, but if we're gonna play this game of who's got the bigger fish to fry, I thought it was relevant to throw out there.
firstdown 10-23-2008, 03:05 PM We always hear this drop in the bucket when talking about millinos of dollars and goverment spending. Maybe if we started with these drop in the bucket spending habbits of congress then we would be at a great starting point. I just cannot look at 900 million as a drop in the bucket.
