What has Hall done to make you not impressed? He is not getting beat deep (like he was in Oakland), or given up a touchdown since he's been with us. He is making plays and he knows has hands. Rogers has always been a guy that was solid but never a pro bowl guy.I don't think they "love the guy" they just have seen better play frrom Hall than they have of Rogers lately.

I think that's the case. I remember when Hall was signed there was plenty of talk about how the egos in the secondary would handle the addition of another pro-bowl caliber player. Maybe Rogers hasn't handled it well and it shows through his play. You'd hope it would work the other way around and we'd see him stepping up rather than falling off.

Thats a good point. I agree Rogers must not be taking the Hall signing as a good thing (and his play is showing it). As of now he is losing out on a new contract with us to Hall.

This is exactly what is wrong with the Redskins. Why would you bench a young corner and let a guy who never comes to the off season work outs, is the highest payed guy on the team, is rarely ever healthy in the time he has been here, and has never been willing to modify his contract for the good of the team. The season is over and if we keep Springs next year it would be more stupid then cutting Liegh Torrence. So why would you play him, the only reason I can think of is the coaches are worried about thier jobs.

It's pretty simple, Hall and Springs can catch, Rogers can't. Hall makes plays, Rogers doesn't. I've got no issues with this. I'd be fine with D. Hall as our #1 CB going forward. If Rogers resigns he'd be better as a #2.

Honestly I'm not surprised. The coaches know that Synder will throw more money at Hall given his "big name" and playmaking ability. They are clearly sending the message to Rogers or whoever that Hall is the #1 CB not Rogers. Whether its unfair or not I personally think Hall has outplayed Rogers to start. It will be interesting if they re-sign both because I think this move tells me their #1 priority is to sign Hall this offseason.

I agree. Hall has been more of a playmaker in the month he's been here than Rogers has in 3 years. At this point, I agree resigning hall is the #1 priority in the offseason. There is no reason to resign Rogers any time soon. let him continue to play out his rookie contract. If he and Hall prove to be a good starting tandem next year, then we can think about extending him during the season. I beleive the rules regarding a potentially uncapped 2010 would result in Rogers not becoming a FA until 2011 anyways.

On a side note, Rogers has been struggling with some kind of illness that just wont go away - so i think that is closely related to his recent performance drop.

This is a wake-up call for Rogers. It's sad to think that if Fred Smoot hadn't gone to Minnesota, we probably would have drafted DeMarcus Ware or Shawne Merriman instead of Rogers, and we would have a much stronger D today with one of those dominant pass rushers. I like Hall and hope that we resign him. At least he has decent hands. Rogers has dropped AT LEAST 75% of the INT opportunities that have hit his hands since coming here. Blache must be thinking enough is enough, either start concentrating on making the catch first, or you can play nickel corner until you figure it out.

I agree with this post.

I don't believe Rogers is a free-agent. Hall is, though.

Rogers is very good at blanketing revievers and making tackles. He has bad hands though.

He is playing as the third corner though. THat means he's the guy who gets in if/when Springs goes down.

It's funny how alot of people want us to get rid of Springs but as soon as he is healthy he is our #1 CB.

I am not so surprised with starting Hall. Since he joined the team, I have been pleasantly surprised with his play.
