Jones should've kept it behind closed doors but he was 100% right. Farve is just too careless with the football. It's almost comical that a guy that has played in the NFL as long as Farve still makes throws that a rookie would make. I don't know why they would even want him back.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Farve is another overrated prima dona that ESPN continues to hype and refuses to criticize. He has continued to throw BRUTAL interceptions for his teams IN THE PLAYOFFS for the last 4-5 years. Jones was right on the mark....but he should have kept his comments in house.

It's called a "big ego". He should have stayed retired.
I personally am looking forward to the endless media speculation, unfounded Favre-worship, and "watch". The endless tear jerking retirement speeches we have come to eagerly expect for the last few years at season's end.....Perhaps T.O. can give the "he's my qb" hysteria speech for the Jets just to finish it off??

They'd want him back because as the #2 team in NYC they need marketing hype to sell tickets and generate media hype. Favre provides that.

LOL... It's getting stupid.

over half the people that are now bitching about Favre, would have welcomed him with open arms, if Snyder was in the running for his services. he reminds me of the ultimate home run hitter. its either out of the park, or strike 3. i say no way he can come back to the jets. and i cant really believe people think he is over rated. can anyone name some of the running backs he played with in green bay? i didnt think so. he did a whole bunch, with a whole lot of nothing

22 TDs and 22 INTs. Sorry, but I'd much rather have Peyton Manning for a TD-producing machine since he doesn't get picked off all the time like Favre does. Not unless someone thinks INTs are just as good as TDs, as a Favre apologist very much seems to imply with their excuses.

I remember that Favre had Dorsey Levens and Ahman Green. I also remember Antonio Freeman was one of his targets.

Dorsey Levens was pretty good for a few years

You hear that argument made here from time time and it's not one I understand. What, we can't criticize players on different teams because a few people play Madden too much and think we should sign every free agent?

And if you are arguing that the talent level of the mid-90's Packers constituted a "whole lot of nothing," then you are in need of a serious history lesson my friend. That was one of the most talented teams of all time. Notice how much playoff success Favre had with less talented teams, after losing that second Superbowl. Not much.

I am just glad it was the Jets & not the Skins that got him.
