Yeah I hear you. Actually I have a confession to make. I Dirtbag have been flirting with the idea of becoming a Ravens fan. Fans talk all the time about sticking it to management and boycotting the team until something is done about the circus that is the Washington Redskins but they never have the heart to. I remember back in 2001 or 2002 when the Skins were like 0-5 1-5 under Marty how I started watching Ravens games the first one being the first match between the Titans and the Ravens. From that point on as more Ravens games started making their way to Atlanta I found myself becoming a fan to the point where I was rooting for the team in the Super Bowl with the same entuhsiasm that I rooted for the Skins.

Yeah call me what you will but only a fool would stay put in such an abusive relationship that is loyalty to these Washington Redskins. Now I'm not defecting yet but I have to say if nothing is done about the lines, and at the same time we get Vinny peddling his holy draft board then it's going to be very tempting to stand up and leave. Lifes to short to wait for Dan Snyder to learn how to run a team.
None of us are happy lately, But it's better than winning 2-4 games a year that was'nt that long ago. You can't just pick and chose why don't you become a cards or steeler fan. If your going go good riddance. But we're about good and bad thick and thin. Go Skins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never understood people that switch teams. I had a friend when I was kid and at the time we were both big Celtics fans. All of a sudden one day he said he was switching to the Lakers. We all gave him a ton of shit for it.

If you want to switch fine, go ahead. Don't let the door hit ya.

Let's go back to Denver for a second, just as an example.

Ok, you're frustrated that the Redskins have hired a coach with no NFL head coaching experience....well so did the Broncos (phenom or not, McDaniels has proven nothing)

You're upset the Redskins front office structure doesn't include a General Manager...well neither does the Broncos

You're upset the Redskins draft choices aren't contributing and you see how much Eddie Royal contributed in Denver....well their first two picks from 2007 (DE Jarvis Moss 1st round and DE Tim Crowder 2nd round) combined for 13 tackles and 3.5 sacks this year. Exactly what we got out of Demetric Evans this year

You're upset about our draft history...well do the names George Foster, Derius Watts, Ashley Lelie, Willie Middlebrooks, Terry Pierce, Dorsett Davis strike fear in you as part of a vaunted Broncos team?

You're upset about our 22-26 record the past three years with only one playoff appearance...but the last three years the Broncos have been 24-24 with no playoff appearances

So is the grass really all that much greener on the other side?

Here's the thing about Denver: It looks like they have an absolute dynamite tandem at wideout and promising gunslinger of a quarterback. In many cases around the NFL, that's half of the championship puzzle right there. Yes they have work to do, especially on defense. But if it's one thing that separates them from us it's an owner who knows how to win, and knows when to step back and allow the people who truly know the game of football to take over.

Pat Bowlen saw a franchise that under Mike Shanahan had become stagnant, had aged and deteriorated on defense, and knew that it was time to make a change. With the Broncos there's a track record of success and willingness to shift course when the team has so clearly veered off course.

Inexplicably, Dan Snyder refuses to open his eyes to the fact that the same thing has been happening here. And there aren't any Lombardi trophies Vinny Cerrato can point to in his defense.

Lol people are still responding to my initial post even when theres a whole thread dedicated to the topic of defecting started in my honor.

So for those who have arrived late here's an update. My fellow posters have talked me down from the ledge and I currently am on Warpath defection watch. The meds are keeping me calm and as far as I'm concerned the Redskins are the greatest thing in the history of man. At least thats what the burgundy coats tell me.

Either way the "ordeal" is over, I voiced my frustrations and I have since calmed down.

Good to hear. I've been a Skins fan since I was a kid and the way I look at it, they have gone to 4 Super Bowls and won 3 of them in that time. That's more than my annoying, johnny come lately, couldn't spell NFL before 1996 or actually 2001 Raven superfan buddies can say;)

Now maybe the Skins don't do squat for the next 35 years and then go on another tear and win 3 more Super Bowls when I'm in my 70's. They would be 6 Super Bowls in my lifetime. I could live with that, although I hope that's not how it plays out. They'll be back.... some day!
