I remember him as a "Donnie Warren" type player. Not flashy or obnoxious, just had a workman type attitude and a good guy in general. Ahh those were the days when Kaufman was playing. I miss those days and now I'll miss Mel Kaufman. SFREDSKIN 02-10-2009, 04:06 PM Here's a nice article from the SLO Tribune. Very hard working man , a true Redskin , way to young to pass away . RIP to the Kaufman family . SOUL-SKINS 02-10-2009, 07:30 PM R.I.P. Mel 4mrusmc 02-10-2009, 08:13 PM Mel was a solid guy on and off the field. He played hard on every down for a defense that did not get the recognition that it deserved for being one of the best in their time. It was guys like him that made the Skins tough in the hey-day of the 80's. Sorry to see him go... Another piece of my childhood has just died as well. RIP Mr. Kaufman. Prayers go out to his family and friends. WaldSkins 02-10-2009, 08:38 PM My thoughts are with his family. RIP. 70Chip 02-11-2009, 12:51 PM R.i.p. |
