Dirtbag59 04-03-2009, 12:37 PM Unfortunately Snyder does have a keen awareness that being a die hard football fan is kind of like being a drug addict.
He owns all the needles, pipes and bags of drugs so he can basically get away with doing whatever he wants.
The difference between impulsive and compulsive. Impulsive is practically harmless and spur of the moment. Compulsive is a bad habit that you know is bad yet you can't break it. I wonder which one people would classify Snyder as?
Fans should boycott the team and not spend a penny on attending games, buying jersey, paying for parking, and etc. Snyder and Cerrato have zero creditability, no respect, and has no clue on how to build a great team. Together, they made this franchise the biggest laughing stock in the NFL.
I think Detroit and a handful of other teams have a firm grasp on that title.

Unfortunately the Skins are part of that handful of teams. Most people outside of DC think the ownership is a joke and the team's performance since DS took over has done little to improve the Skins image as anything more than a six time NFL paper champion.
The really unfortunate part of this is how it continues to suck the life out of the fanbase. A lot of the guys I know that used to live and die with the Skins now barely seem interested. Sure they follow the team but nowhere near like they used to and it has to do almost entirely with the FO circus and lack of winning on the field. Its really sad.

go N sell the team!
I thought of this the other day, just in case anyone wants to get on television this year at a game.
FOX is a little harder. Anyone have a good one for NBC, ABC, or CBS?

Agreed. The perspective of so many "fans" is so skewed in my opinion.

Yeah it has nothing to do with there being infinite entertainment options, a largely transient surrounding area encompassing their geographical fan base and them getting older and having other things to worry about.

Actually, studies show that the DC area is no more transient than any other large city.
Look at the Caps, they were given up for dead and then they started winning like crazy and now its almost impossible to get a ticket. When the Skins get back to winning and doing it often the ticket will be hot again and other teams fans wont be able to over-run FedEx. Unfortunately I'm not sure this ownership is capable of doing that.

Yes, laughing stocks finish with winning records in the toughest division in pro sports.
This thread is ridiculous. I'll root for the Skins no matter who is calling the shots. Truth is, the Redskins are STILL the classiest franchise in the league. Until Haynesworth, we had no players who caused any legal troubles, and his was just a traffic offense that happened while on another team. We have a core of players who the fans love: Portis, Cooley, Landry, Moss, CAMPBELL. We have dealt with some devastating injuries in the past few years and still remained competitive, even making the playoffs and winning one, something Dallas hasn't done for 13 years. Snyder hired a coach who never coached before in his life, not even a pro coordinator. He finished .500 in his first season and would have done FAR better without the line injuries. Sure, we could have tried to prepare better with more depth on the bench, but overall, we have a great team and it's been upgraded dramatically this season with Haynesworth, Dockery and resigning Hall. Who did that? Oh yes, Dan Snyder. I don't agree with everything he does, but he brought back Gibbs and has built a very good core here that I am a huge fan of. I am very relieved we did not get Cutler, but you can't deny that Snyder has the team's success in mind when he tries these strange moves. At least we have an owner that actually TRIES to improve the team, unlike Detroit. We're also lucky he's not the type of egomaniac who tries to call plays from his luxury box like Jerry Jones or Al Davis. Being an NFL owner is a lot like being President, you're never going to be popular and fans will always think they can do a better job. Even Kraft up in New England has his share of detractors and haters.
We have too many drama queens here. We have a VERY respectable team who I'm excited and proud to call myself a fan of. I am very excited to watch the Skins compete for the NFC East title this season, especially since Dallas and Philly went the opposite direction as us this offseason.
