TV Pitchman Billy Mays Dead at 50

Death is always around us and sometimes its more obvious than other times. In Iowa we lost Ed Thomas (http://sports.espn.go.com/highschool/rise/football/news/story?id=4283443). Very strange week indeed.

Yeah that was an absolute tragedy for sure.

Mays' death really hits home for many of us at ESPN. He was a fan and a friend. RIP

Wasn't Michael Jackson 50 too? That seems just too damn young. Crazy.

There was a very small but fierce storm that rolled through on Friday evening in the Bethesda/Chevy Chase/NW DC area. A gigantic branch from a tree right at the intersection of Connecticut Ave and East-West Highway fell and crushed a mini-van, killing a woman and a young child, and injuring a few other kids in the van. Very sad.

A strange morbid week indeed.

Billy Mays was on that flight yesterday that blew out a tire when it landed. Sounds like he could have died from head trauma like Natasha Richardson. Sad.
