Umm exactly. That's my point. So the depth chart had Hagans and Hackett for more playing time as far as the depth chart goes. Zorn better not play favorites with Hackett. We already made that mistake with Alexander..

So to me the depth chart reflects their opinions on each WR. Its sort of like an unoffical rank until cuts are made. Maybe feelings have changed since they made the depth chart. I hope so..

There's no reason to believe Zorn is playing favorites with Hackett. If he were, we would have signed him last year to a bigger free agent contract, or we would have signed him the first several times he came for tryouts this off-season.

Let's shoot for hire than Malcom Kelly type ....

I think Kelly will be a star and Thomas will be a servicable #2 or 3. Moss won't play or start forever and Randle El needs to be be upgraded.

The #5 WR Poll should be attached to this thread. By the way, 64% of respondants say MarkoPolo!

1)Moss and Thomas
2)Kelly and Mitchell
3)Randle El

My logic here is to place similiar players ie size, speed, and agility where they would be most effective on the field.

I agree, but the poll was created before the thread. Can't move it over

Teams have lost undrafted players, including us

Ok but back to my question, what is the probability of losing him??

I hate putting a guy on the practice squad that was drafted. If he gets picked up by another team and becomes a player, it will have been a completely wasted draft pick, not that we haven't wasted picks in the past. :frusty:

I agree, I really think someone would pick him up. Hackett has been around, and clearly doesnt have "IT". Hagans has some potential, but is still very raw and we havent invested anything in him. MM being the draft pick, Im hoping they keep him around.

What's the probability of a losing a 7th round WR from the PS? Probably pretty slim.

Probability high to teams who may have lost a WR due to injury and Marko show's pretty good skills in preseason.

I'm guessing Zorn is leaning towards Hackett only cause he knows the system but again I say he has done nothing in this league that screams future of this team or team leader. We have Moss and ARE as vets, lets bring in some youth. Who knows maybe he will be another star WR plucked from the later rounds. Funny if he out performs Thomas and Kelly. Doubtfull due to lack of playing time and time in the league and system.

Just to clear this up......

Of the five players competing for the wide receiver spot, Hackett is the only one who doesn't play special teams, though Mitchell -- who had 153 catches in three years at Nevada -- never did before this camp. Special teams coordinator Danny Smith said Mitchell has a "real long way to go, but he's really made vast improvement."

This is a good read also plus Eloi would have no problem being put on the PS.

Hixon called Eloi "probably the best athlete of the bunch" and Smith said plays like his kickoff tackle against the Ravens, as a safety, are "hard for a rookie safety to do. . . . We've had a lot of guys who haven't made that play."

Eloi said this week that he would be excited for the opportunity to play on the practice squad, because that means "the guy is good, we'd like to keep him here, but he still has a lot to learn. And you have nothing to do but respect that."
