This can be turned around quickly considering we only have to work on one side of the ball. It is just very important that we bring in the right GM and Head Coach, see New Orleans 06, and Ravens, Falcons and Dolphins last year.

Guys like Fletcher and Haynesworth can't really afford to be on standby for the next 2 to 3 years.

The stress for our solution should be to rebuild. Though there may be some holdovers, ultimately our offense and defense should look drastically different when we are done.

Enough with the patchwork solutions. Bring in players that our next coach will need in his personally crafted scheme and not that of our previous coach.

Ok let's role play and pretend to be Dan Snyder.

Scary thing is I'm sure a lot of us could do a better job at being Dan Snyder than Dan Snyder can, so here goes.

If I'm Snyder, the day the season ends Zorn is gone. Here's my termination discussion with him, Jimmy I'm sorry things didn't work out. I have to apologize for putting you in a tough situation for a first time head coach. You were in over your head and that was my fault. I wish you the best, but we have to move in another direction.

The second thing I'm doing is calling up Vinny and saying, sorry pal but our way clearly isn't working. We've tried big name coaches, big name players, now it's time to try a big time GM. See you on the racquetball court.

Now, the third thing I do is dial up Bill Polian in Indy. I'm saying Bill, I've got a blank check here with your name on it. I will make you the highest paid GM in the history of sports. I'm giving you 100% autonomy and control to build and run this franchise. Build me a winner. If he turns me down I'm saying, is your son there... can I talk with him?

Wow, your a dick Matty Snyder. I Vinny have been by your side through thick and thin. I pointed out how M.Schottenheimer was trying to take over everything and you let him fire me. When you realized it you brought me back. Who else, name one person, who else is going to tell you like it is? Give you good advise? Your going to throw our 9 season realationship out the window like that? Like I'm the baby with the bath water? Ya know what? screw you Matty Snyder. ;)

Sorry if this has been posted already, but has anyone seen this?

Zorn, Cerrato's fates apparently are intertwined
Posted by Mike Florio on October 18, 2009 9:58 PM ET
Redskins fans, there might be signs of hope in D.C., after all.

We're hearing that there's a strong belief within the Redskins organization that the fates of coach Jim Zorn and V.P. of football operations Vinny Cerrato are tied together.

So if/when Zorn goes, Cerrato could be dumped, too. (There's a chance Zorn would go after the Eagles game next Monday, and that Cerrato wouldn't be fired until after the season ends.)

That might help explain why Zorn and Cerrato will decide tomorrow who'll call the plays for the rest of the year. And why Zorn didn't simply refuse to give up his play-calling function.

The next question becomes who'll call the plays?

If it's not Sherm Lewis, we're not sure who it will be. Mike Holmgren? Joe Gibbs? Dan Snyder?

That said, Zorn should have refused to give up his play-calling duties and forced his termination. Instead, he has now allowed himself to be systematically neutered over the past two weeks, with the addition of Lewis and now the surrender of one of Zorn's core functions.

I think it would be a good thing for Snyder to hire a younger man so they could work together for many years.

Even if Snyder backs off on the football operations side of the business, there are many satisfying things left for him to accomplish as the owner of the Redskins. Number one, in my mind, would be the building of a beautiful new stadium in D.C. proper. The fans would love that!

I think so also. Here's my requirements...

1) Good looking and no cross or bulging eye.
2) Tall. Everyone likes tall. plus he can reach the tall places I could not.
3) He has to be athletic so I can play hand ball with.
4) He has to be able to speak well to the media....media savey.

Otherwise I want M.Schottenheimer as GM. Bring him on board now and let him start evaluating the players while they finish out the yr. Give him total control over the team, especailly since he wanted it anyway. At the end of the season have him name his son B.Schottenheimer HC and build an offense that will put up points and go 14-2 for many seasons. ...and hope his son can take it to the next step. SB.

Matty post is about right:

Hire a football lifer to help w/ this whole re-organization thing. Start now and do some major due dilegence....major. Talk to people, get opinions.
Go after a young up and coming guy, like Polians son or someone else who's spent a long time in a quality organization
Tell Vinny thanks but we're going in another direction...same w/ Zorn.
Allow new GM to work w/ Dan in selecting a new head coach preferrably someone under 45 years of age.
Address the fan base. We want to like Dan Snyder, give us some reasons.

This is my solution and I base it on my belief that the offenses' problems are philosophical.

1. Fire Zorn and pay Bugel to be the interim coach
2. Hire Russ Grimm as Assistant head coach offense (or whatever stupid title they want to come up with) and tell the world that Grimm is the coach next season and he will get to bring his people in next year.
3. Let Bugel kick the crap out of our players. Start Tuesday's practice in pads and begin and end every practice with the Riggo drill for the rest of the year

Redskins country club needs to be shut down immediately. Our offensive players are soft. Our playcalling is soft and our offensive identity is one of weakness. I don't even care about the scores of the games this year. We need to tell the world starting with our players that we are tougher than the guy lining up against us and we will be a physical football team win lose or draw.

Then Snyder needs to step out of the picture and let Grimm create a team that has the qualities that made him the best lineman on arguably the best lines the NFL has seen.

Cerrato goes before the coach goes. He seriously needs to get fired today. He needs to be fired for hiring a coach w/ no HC or OC experience, for the Jason Taylor trade and for the 08 draft. But I think we all need to remember that Joe Gibbs bough in Jason Campbell. And although he's not in the category of Heath Shuler bust, he has not become the QB we need him to be. Plus the draft picks that were given up to get him is also hurting us.

1-If he wants to attract a coach and GM then he has to wait till the season is over before firing Zorn and Cerrato. (shows patience and that he has changed)
2-Hire either Casserly or promote Morocco Brown to GM
3-Let the GM control all player personnel decisions and sign the checks.

Matty Snyder, why wait until the end of the year? Vinny has already taken away Zorn's balls...I mean playcalling.

After the Eagles game, you fire Zorn and Cerrato. Promote either Joe Bugel or Greg Blache to interim head coach. Then take a few weeks to hire a competent GM who's sole purpose isn't to lose racquetball to Snyder each week, and have him evaluate the team and coaches. I think the defensive coaching staff with Gray promoted to DC is pretty solid. So it's a matter of finding a philosophy that matches whatever offensive personnel will be left after the season's over. This team doesn't need a big name guy (Shanny, Gruden, etc) to be successful. Just needs a meddling owner to stay out of personnel and team matters.
