Anyone have some place I can look on the the stances of Libertarians? Like all I know about them is most of them are for the legalization of weed and I'm down for that. :) But I don't wanna be one of those jaded college kids that are all about Libertarians just because of that.
So... Anyone?
Hope this helps Dynamite .....Libertarian Party | Smaller Government | Lower Taxes | More Freedom (http://www.lp.org/) . I have a cousin who is a Libertarian < got fed up with Rep/Dems > . As soon as I hear from her I will post another link or two .

Maybe Danny could be persuaded to hire Sarah to replace Vinny. God knows she couldn't do any worse.
I have 100 dollars that says you are wrong about that.

Been reading around the site and I really am liking what I'm seeing. I'm a little weary on their handling of drugs but I definitely understand where they're coming from and could be sold on it with more information. I really liked what I read about the handling of crime and violence and even though I've been identifying as a dem, through personal hands on experience, I've been swayed more towards defending the private ownership rights of guns. And then of course, there's stuff like abortion and gay marriage yada yada and other social issues, that are pretty much hands off to the government and left up to the individuals which I love.
I gotta keep staying informed on this. Libertarians might just have themselves a new member by 2012. Cause I'm kinda over the Right wing v. Left wing stuff.
Does anyone on here actually identify as Libertarian?

Is being a Libertarian an all or nothing proposition? Must one subscribe to all their ideas to be considered one?

Well it's never all or nothing. Most people usually fall in the middle of at least one or two issues. Labeling is completely a social construct. Personally I like having label though, at least in terms of political parties it's less of limbo for me. I mean, even if you don't label what you believe, someone else will. I'd rather define myself instead of having someone do it for me.

As a libertarian I find it suspect that a woman has a right over her body but a junkie doesn't?
Every state is different. The Libertarian movement is geared towards letting local people choose what is right for themselves.
Be careful, Dynamite. Libertarian views are to the extreme right, and don't mesh well with the philosophy of the Democans or Republicrats.

I like certain things, I dislike others, and some are mumbo-jumbo that isn't well thought out at all. In politics principles are shed easily and Libertarians are no different in that regard.
