tryfuhl 10-21-2009, 09:46 PM You're absolutely correct. I wanted to say the very same things you did, I just didn't feel like typing it.
Just finished reading Jason Reid's blog on Redskins Insider "Largent says Zorn considered quitting" and disecting his logic (which by the way is spot on) one can't help but wonder why Zorn took this job in the first place. One word of wisdom to any prospective coach considering coming here under the current set of circumstances, BEWARE.
It's like when you're a teenager... a girl offers it up to you, of course you take it.. you're not ready for it, you're nervous, but feels so good man
that's why zorn took it
SBXVII 10-21-2009, 10:15 PM I don't understand the love for all this guys Fisher, Gruden, Shanahan, Cowher, Shottenheimer. In my opinion they are all average, the only guys for consideration are Holmgren and Dungy. What has Fisher done in all his years in Houston/Tennesse? Shanahan without Elway? Cowher in 14/15 years in Pitt? Gruden without the team Dungy beat? Marty with his many playoff chokes. I want someone that will takes us to the SB and win. I'm sorry but none of these guys do it for me except for Holmgren and Dungy. Are we that desperate that all these guys remind you of Gibbs, Walsh, Belichick? Jack Pardee is probably available.
Ok, Einstein....err....SFREDSKIN, aside from these so called "Average" coach's......who do you plan to pick up that has better qualifications, knows how to get to the dance, and has better stats then these HC's?
It's funny. You call them average. Stats are shown. You back peddle on two. and who else out there is going to be available with a better resumue? I guess I'm presuming your wanting a young GM picked first like most of us, and then what? A young OC from some team to be named our HC who does not have any HC resumue to speak of? No stats to show? Never been to the big dance as a HC?
Unless I'm missing someone you have picked all the HC's that are proven and called them ...."Average." Who is above "Average" and please feel free to use stats.
SmootSmack 10-21-2009, 10:16 PM You know my friend screams on this guy all the time. But say that Danny feels that way too and he get's Kyle and then hires a GM. I'd be fine with it but wouldn't the masses still be upset ? It's lose lose for real but I think he'd be a pretty decent choice.
The rumor is that wherever Shanahan goes, Kyle will be joining him as Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator/Possible Head Coach in Waiting
RedskinMike 10-21-2009, 10:17 PM Not as dumb as Fisher would be if he even contemplated playing for Danny the Bozo. Best guess here is that he wouldn't.
You really bring nothing to the table do you?

A Fisher/Adams divorce is drawing near
Vince Young(notes) may be the factor that causes one last irreparable crack between Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher and team owner Bud Adams. Regardless of some of his past comments, it’s pretty clear Fisher hasn’t been comfortable with Vince Young as his starting quarterback since the beginning of 2008. And now, per Adams’ comments to media, it has finally gotten to the point that he may force Young back into the mix
That never bodes well for a relationship, particularly when the coach just happens to be the longest-tenured head man in the NFL, and has more than earned the right to call all of the shots when it comes to who plays. So there is bound to be some serious private friction over this push by Adams, which Fisher already seems to be resisting.
And in the light of some of the other things that have happened (the 0-6 start, the Peyton Manning(notes) jersey incident), you have to wonder if Fisher isn’t ready for another challenge. It’s not an unreal scenario. Counting his takeover of the team in 1994, this is his 16th season running the Titans. That basically makes him the coaching version of the Rosetta Stone among his counterparts.
Now frame that in the realities of the team. Unless Young suddenly and unexpectedly reverses course, the Titans are in for at least a partial rebuild. This coming offseason, they could be looking for a new quarterback, while also needing help on the defensive line and a continuing chapter at the wide receiver spot. But the quarterback issue in particular could be daunting. Barring another fluky Matt Ryan(notes)/Joe Flacco draft, it’s going to be a set of growing pains that Fisher may not want to go through. It’s not unthinkable that he could walk away from the Titans, or get fired, then sit out one season and resurface in another franchise that has at least some of the major parts already in place (Chicago Bears, anyone?).
CRedskinsRule 10-28-2009, 04:21 PM Hard to believe Fisher here, after all AH kinda laid into him when he came here didn't he?
SFREDSKIN 10-28-2009, 04:27 PM 6 winning seasons in 15 years (16 after this year) is not impressive to me, the guy is over rated.

...he's no Cam Cameron right?

Can't judge Cam after 1 season. How will you judge Spagnola, Schwartz, Morris, Haley, etc. after one year? I guess they all suck?
dmek25 10-28-2009, 04:32 PM out of all the stiffs that have been mentioned, im officially on the Jeff Fisher bandwagon. although i really don't see that happening
