This whole thing is a huge mess. Sounds like Detroit but 10X worst.

The recent bans on signs, clothing, and now media interviews are knee jerk reactions to the current climate of things surrounding the team. If criticism and vitriol flying at The Danny were not at an all time highg and reaching critical mass, we would have no bans.
Banning signs I can see, and quite honestly do not have a problem with such a policy. My problem is with their explanation about fan safety and sight lines to the field being the reasons for the ban. Its just a flat out lie and everyone in the free world who has been watching this train wreck knows it. The Danny simply does not want signs and banner that are critical of him to be displayed in his stadium. So ban all signs, including the ones that express love and support for the team and/or troops serving overseas. I get it, just stop lying to me.
The t-shirt thing is ridiculous in my opinion. For years people have been wearing F*** Dallas shirts or Dallas Sucks & Philly Swallows shirts, or Calvin & Hobbes urinating on the Dallas Star, etc. None of these were found offensive because none of them criticized or ridiculed The Danny. Again, stop lying to me and just admit why you are hassling people with Dumb and Dumber t-shirts.
The media ban is also stupid, and much of it I have to think is directed at Dan Steinberg and his relentless blogging (or bogging, or whatever it is he does). He interviewed me and my friends in the lot after the Chiefs game and quoted us in the post, we had nothing positive to say after that sorry performance. He also was pulling confiscated signs out of the trash and taking pictures so we could all see the what nonsense the front office is pulling. My guess is they hate him and so to get at him, they ban all media from talking to fans in the lot.
In sum, these are desperate, pathetic measures from a desperate, pathetic man who sees his glorious empire crumbling beneath his feet. I love the Redskins, and I love the players (even the ones who suck, because well, they are Redskins). I will continue to watch, I will continue to go the games, and I will continue to watch old youtube videos to remind me why I love this team. I will not support that man any longer, I will not buy gear (or wear it, because it reminds me that i put money in that Jackass's pocket), and I will not spend any money inside the stadium.

Go Skins!

Lifelong Browns fan and season-ticket holder Mike Randall, aka "Dawg Pound Mike," is encouraging other Cleveland fans to stay away from their seats for the opening kickoff of the Browns' Nov. 16 home game against Baltimore.

Fed-up Dawg Pound Cleveland Browns fans plan protest for Nov. 16 game - ESPN (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4605603)

Now this seems to be a more reasonable way to protest for those like me who already have tickets are not inclined to simply throw money away. Stay out of the seating area for the first 5-10 minutes or so and let that image make a statement.

Problem is, the Redskins fans that have season tickets are held hostage. I'm not a ticket holder myself, but to use your theater analogy: what if you don't want to see the same thing over and over but if you give up your ticket, you can never get a ticket at that theater again. I feel for the season ticket holders because they've shelled out a ton of money for an inferior product. If they don't go to the game, they've waisted their money. If they scalp their tickets, someone else goes and it doesn't help the cause. If they don't renew their tix, the next guy on the list gets to go. Thing is, the stands still get filled. You're never going to hurt him that way.

I have a gut feeling that this current media/fan barage is going to work. I wouldn't be surprised if DS either makes a drastic move soon (i.e. firing Vinny) or possibly breaking his media silence. Something big is on the horizon.

I've never seen anything like this. Viva la revolucion!

I don't have season tickets so I'm good. Those of us who don't should not go or purchase any sports wear in regards to the Skins. If we are not going or purchasing products DS will lose money, money he has counted on to pay the players and staff.

For those with season tickets, I know you don't want to give up your tickets, especially if you already paid for them. I was suggesting that those fans ride Metro to eliminate DS capitalizing on their money for parking. I would guess he has to make a certain amount of money from parking in order to pay some of his bills. Lastly I suggested fans eat prior to arriving at the park. If you don't purchase the high priced food then the Venders don't make money and DS does not get a % of their take in order to be allowed to sell in his park.

What I don't know is when you purchase season tickets is your meal included? If so then you fans might as well eat cause you already paid for the meal. If it's not then only spend if you have to, like feeding kids, or drinks-but I would not buy too many drinks. Do they allow you to bring water bottles in? If so find a fountain and refill it instead of paying for water. I know not purchasing beer at a game would almost be taboo but a few games of not having it might make a future of difference.

I still can't help but laugh at people with "Obstructed View" seats. WTF? If I wanted to watch the game on TV I would have stayed at home. Had good food, and not had to worry about a DUI.

ROFL. Yeah, Danny includes meals!

I completely agree. I am one of those stuck season ticket holders. I do not give Danny a dime though. You should also know that most of us had to buy the $30-$50 parking pass at the same time as we did the season tickets, so metro makes no difference there. I do not give Danny one nickel on gameday though.

There you go. We should storm Redskins Park with pitchforks and torches.

Sorry, LOL. Perhaps I'm an idiot. I kept hearing about the meal that came with the tickets and how it was not that great. Even a Co-worker said his family member has season tickets and he gets to use them once and a while, he said they would get a free lunch included; chicken or pork BBQ. He said they would give a bag of chips and a cookie. That's why I asked. Perhaps there's different costs for the meal included.

I am really starting to wonder if there is indeed some ulterior motive with regards to the madness. Why would an owner go to great lengths to alienate his team's fanbase? You think the bastard is giving the DC fans the big F U before he moves the team to LA? Crazy thought, for sure, but this is over the top ridiculous with what has transpired the past 12 months.

That is a good question. My guess, though, is that he is so focused on his own image that he has not the slightest clue that he might be alienating the fan base.
