And let me say that Reagan's magic wasn't his policies. It was his ability to listen to the other side. He didn't give conservatism a bad name. He was a respectful man and honored the office. Sure he made some missteps, but every president does.

Where do you think Blue Dog Dems originated from? It was Reagan. Yet today they identify with and caucus with Democrats. Modern day Republicans and conservatives found no room for them in the party.

Reagan was a lot smarter than the buffoons wielding his name for conservative street cred today. Very smart politician.

What I said was no one will run and win on a hardcore conservatives platform this day an age... you know, kick the illegals all out of the country sort of principles, go back to the gold standards stupidity, get rid social programs, etc, etc. I was skeptical of your reading skills, now I'm even more skeptical of you comprehension skills.

Freeze, the jig is up, put your hands up buster or I'll shoot!

Well you use hardcore which I'm not and I would agree they could not win an election in 99% of the US. I see you throw out the word stupidity when you talk about conservative ideas but isn't throwing billions and billions of dollars into failing social programs the ulitmate in stupid?

Why do conservatives constantly hearken back to the Reagan era to prove their point about the enduring quality of conservative principles. Reagan was for his time. Lincoln was for his time. So forth and so on. Today we live in a completely different climate. Demographically the country has evolved and continues to do so. The globe has changed for that matter. Politics are more interconnected and simply require more compromise on some key issues. I guess what I'm saying is the world isn't as black and white as it was, say, twenty or thirty years ago.

My main issue if with Republicans, and some liberals for that matter, they tend to view the world in terms of absolutes. They don't debate shades of grey, only black and white.

The same reason that Redskins fans look back to the glory days or RFK, JKC, and Joe Gibbs (1.0). It was a great time compared to the BS we have now.

Oh, so you doubt my reading skills eh? Well if it makes you feel better, I've never underestimated how snide you can be.

You're absolutely right. No one would want to run on those issues you spoke about. I mean obeying the laws, that's for the little people right?

(1) Don't put any faith in you illegal buddies. When the good ship US starts to sink, they'll flee like rats.

(2) Yeah, India just bought a shit load of gold. The Chinese are buying as much as they can. Both of them are slowly dropping the dollar. I guess they're not as smart as you are Saden.

FT.com / Global Economy - Gold extends record high on India purchase (http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/0eaa4a80-c856-11de-a69e-00144feabdc0.html)

(3) I'm not worried about any of it. You liberals will not be able to float all of those free meals forever. Eventually the piper comes to collect.

Actually over half of those people who voted republican in VA said that it was just because Creigh Deeds had ideas with no plan. Not so much that they are opposed to the Obama administration.

I don't remember hearing any of Deed's ideas that were worth a damn?

All McDonnell had to say was, "I'll drill for oil". Bam! You've got my vote!
