But if you draft the best player on the board and he's a bust, you get blasted.

So to review, best player on the board and he lives up to the hype = no credit

Best player on the board and he's a bust = you are a dumbassOrakpo at that spot was an absolute no-brainer. When Denver picked Moreno right before our spot, we would have rightfully been ridiculed if we passed on a Top-10 talent that could fill a position of significant need (SLB / DE). Orakpo is going to be our DeMarcus Ware (or better) for the next decade.

Good job VC?

Orakpo is a good draft pick. He is a good player now and has a lot of potential.

One could make an argument though that an OL would have been a better selection. What if we had an offensive lineman that was starting now and showed equal potential? What if we traded down for a first and third and had 2 olineman?

Hey, i'm happy w/ the pick though. If you've got a game changer there, you've got to take them more times than not.

So VC, good pick, but you're a horrible GM...or executive vice president of personel or whatever you are. Let's face it though, i probably would have selected BA there too.

Not from me. Rogers is a good example. He hasn't been awesome...but he was the right pick. Just didn't work out too much.

Give Vinny credit when credit due. If you have a player available that is special, you take them. We get messed up doing stupid stuff like drafting "Tall" receivers, how bout drafting the best receiver. Give the man some credit. You make your arguments against him not credible.

orakpo is having a great year, but people seem to be overlooking the fact that andre carter is having an amazing season. 42 tackles, 3 ff, and 8 sacks. great year. why not try he and orakpo together full time on the d-line?

Just didn't work out too much.I disagreed with the Rogers pick with DeMarcus Ware and Shawne Merriman still on the board. At least with Orakpo, we finally have the impact pass rusher that we passed on back then. And don't underestimate the impact of Haynesworth. He makes Orakpo and Carter almost unblockable since he's taking a double team on many plays. I'm amazed that the secondary hasn't made more plays with a vastly improved pass rush. Landry is all but invisible.

Carter deserves some serious Pro Bowl consideration this year.

Let's not forget Jarmon, I'm beginning to see flashes of potential and next year he could be a beast.
