Tells me two things
1. NFP and ESPN and others reporting this have a ton of credibility on the line.
2. What are the thoughts of theWarpath? Is this fair to Jim Zorn or is it just part of the business.
Discuss it. Great topic.
"Fair to Jim Zorn" went out the window a long time ago.

But if it's already a done deal, this would be a clear violation of the rooney rule.:cool-smil
Here's how you get around the "Rooney Rule" --
Step 1. Call up Tony Dungy.
Step 2. Ask Tony if he wants the job.
Step 3. Wait for Tony to say "No."
Step 4. Hire the coach you wanted all along.
Bingo. Rooney rule followed.

Isn't Zorn getting like $5 million a year? You tell me who's getting over like a fat cat.
It's definitely part of the business. These days coaches essentially get 3 years to turn things around. Zorn got two. No biggie. Personally, I'd like to see him stay, but hey.

I agree. Do I think there is truth to the Shanny deal? Absolutely. Do I think it should be kept under wraps and Zorn finisih the season? yes. Changing coaches at 4-9 with 3 games left makes absolutely no sense.
Lets remember, Jerry Jones has great respect and admiration for Shanny. Snyder wants this deal done before Wade Phillips is ousted. I absolutely 100% believe a deal with Shanahan is done. But please wait.
I think its great, it lets the new coach see the players for 3 games and evaluate who really wants to be here next year. I'm tired of how our usual starter attitude has been recently, where you just show up, do your own thing, and get paid regardless.

I don't get why anyone would want Zorn to stay. The team improved when he was stripped of most of his duties. I see no point in bringing Zorn back. I like Zorn too...he would make a great neighbor but I don't want him coaching my football team.

Chris Mortensen on ESPN Pro Football Blitz Just said that "Bruce Allen was Mike Shanahans guy so Shanahans going to end up being the Redskins Head Coach, you can put that one in the book". He was asked why Gruden would not be the next coach because of his relationship with Allen and Chris answered, "It ant happening, Mike Shanahan is going to be the Redskins head coach".
Sounds pretty official to me.
