huh?
You actually think a Senator delivering a speech while drunk isn't as bad as the VP cursing privately on the floor and it accidentally getting picked up by a microphone? That's cool.
I don't know if he was drunk or not but he sure sounded like it to me. And yes I have watched plenty of floor coverage...both the Senate and the House. I don't give a rat's ass what he was saying but doing it inebriated seems pretty damn reckless, irresponsible and disrespectful to me. Democrat or Republican doesn't matter, if he was drunk he should be brought up on ethics charges.
I highly doubt that he was drunk. He does not appear to be so but neither one of us can prove it either way. If someone hadn't titled it as "drunk" I doubt that we'd be arguing it, it'd be more something like "Stammering Senator blah blah." His speaking was no worse than most of Bush's or Obama without the teleprompter. Did you even watch it?

So if one disagrees with a bill they should just go along so they are not part of the problem? That makes no sense and then every bill ever introduced would get passed.
I don't see where I said that.

i think what he is saying is instead of just ripping every bill to shreds, look at it, take the good parts( if there are any) and try to reach a middle ground. don't just bitch for the sake of bitching( which is what is going on right now)

I did watch it and he did seem drunk to me. In fact I find it hard to argue that he doesn't SOUND drunk. Not that he was drunk but that he didn't sound it. I find it pretty weird that you don't think it at least sounded like he was drunk.

If you've seen past Maxy speeches or his committee work you would conclude that a) he isn't drunk or b) he is always drunk. If you have the Interweb you have access to C-SPAN archive...do try to use it people...I beg of you.

Stop begging. You know only a drunk does not sound drunk to another drunk.

The only time I know I'm drunk is when I start accidently breaking shit in people's houses. That's when I know it's time to stop. :) Otherwise... I'm not drunk.

After watching a couple of YouTube videos of Max, I go with not drunk. I didn't realize what an utter buffoon this clown is. Maybe he should drink, at least that would be an excuse. The people of Montana must be proud...

So here's the question. Is it better to sound drunk all the time or get caught once giving a speech drunk? Talk about two evils.

Well, not exactly what I was trying to say, but part of what I believe. A lot of arguing is for the sake of just that, to argue and oppose. Most of what these crooks are doing in DC should be criminal but there's not the right type of oversight and not everything is so cut and dry to prove intentions.
Many politicians care more about their party, corporate sponsors, favored lobbyists, etc than the greater population. Many voters care too much about the party that only cares about their vote and money and much less about their actual issues. It's a wonder anything ever gets passed through Congress.
Republicans said that Obama would be a pushover for the terrorists; he takes a few months to make a decision on Afghanistan and he's accused of neglecting them and causing further losses by not sending additional troops off of the bat. Then we he announces plans for a surge he's criticized again for that. This goes both ways with each party, but it's a glaring example at the time. I usually don't even mention that I'm personally conservative because I don't want to get grouped in with these neo-con wackjobs that've ruined the Republican Party.
