I just want to say that in the rare case that we do trade Cooley I want it to be a 3 team trade with the Chargers. We get Marcus McNeil, team X gets Chris Cooley, San Diego get's a 2nd round pick from Team X.

I like this idea. Such would leave us free to take a qb at #4. McNeil solves our LT problem. Beautiful.

Hey good post Redskinwarrior. The QB list is very weak but I would take a shot a Ravens backup Troy Smith out of Ohio St. He was started to play well when he got sick and the Ravens put in Joe Flacco and the rest is history. Troy is not very tall but he has nice feet and can throw the ball. He moves well in the pocket and can run if needed. He would be at the very least a good backup in the league. If JC is not tender a offer which I think the team will do to at least to get a draft pick then we will more than likely draft a QB in the 1st round.

I 've been thinking about Troy Smith too. He would not sign to be a backup and he really doesn't have alot of experience as a starter in the NFL. I think we're better at drafting a QB and signing a veteran backup. I want Brad Smith from the Jets. He is killing the Bengals and he's versatile like Randle El was in his better days.

Recall that, if there is no salary cap next season, players will not become unrestricted free agents until they are 6th year veterans. So, for example, if San Diego does not sign McNeil to a long-term deal, they can tender him at the 1st round level, and anyone who signed him would have to fork over their 1st round pick to the Chargers.

Here's (http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d81423860&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true) a list of notable UNrestricted free agents.

Of that list, I'd like to see Jason Campbell and either Leon Washington or Pierre Thomas signed, along with Gaither and Mankins for the line.

That is true about free agents. But the scenario above was for a 3-way trade. They can tag McNeil at one level and then trade him at another if they wish.

I highly doubt that San Diego would be willing to trade McNeil for anything less than a 2nd rounder and I wouldn't want to give up a pick at the top of the 2nd round for McNeil.

The scenario listed above was a three-way trade that works out for us as trading Cooley for McNeil. In the scenario we lose no draft picks.

I'd keep an eye on Reggie Bush this off-season
