Here is a good breakdown of the Final 8 restrictions in an uncapped year, granted it is from PFT but it's still a pretty good analysis, even if there is no way I am rooting for Dallas this weekend!

Jesus that's complicated.

Why are we looking at a free agent list? I thought the Redskins had changed their ways. Going after high priced free agents is not the way to go. Develop from within, build through the draft. That should be the new mantra!
ummmmm... you can't fill every need with draft picks

nobody said that we're never going to sign a free agent again.. all of the top teams do it

bruce allen has always preferred veteran players. in tampa bay, he was limited in his ability to sign "high priced" free agents because the ownership was very frugal. Allen has already gone on record saying the #1 reason he feels he will have success here (where others like Gibbs and Shottenheimer have failed) is the uncapped year. We have every reason to expect a very large number of aging veterans to make up our 2010 roster.

While this is certainly not a way to build long-term success, it shouldnt "kill" us the way snyders spending sprees did in the past for atleast 2 reasons i can think of: 1) Bruce Allen, while having a thoroughly unimpressive draft history, is known for keeping his draft picks. he won't trade draft picks for old players. rather, he'll sign the best of the free agent class. 2) since 2010 will be uncapped, any contracts signed can be "front-loaded" to ensure the skins have plenty of room if/when a salary cap is reinstated.
If that's the case then I hope that we do it the NE way with the older vets.

I didnt Richard Seymore will be an unrestricted free agent. If we switch to a 3-4 defense, he'd be worth picking up.
You'd have to think that they'll re-sign him.. he wasn't too happy about going there to begin with though, so we'll see.

If we do in fact switch to a base 3-4 defense, I think we have to hope to nab a guy like UFA NT Casey Hampton to anchor the defense. I just don't trust Haynesworth to play NT, especially since he missed 25% of the season due to injury and 20% of the snaps in the games in which he appeared. Besides, he's likely be more effective at DE than NT in a 3-4 scheme.

I also think we'll need another MLB. I don't see too many viable 3-4 MLBs available in free agency, but perhaps Brandon Spikes will fall to the top of the second.

So, my dream offseason would look something like this....

Trading the 4th pick for Denver's 1st (11th overall) and first 2nd rounder (45th overall).
Drafting OT Bruce Campbell with the 11th pick
Drafting ILB Brandon Spikes with the 37th pick
Drafting OT Jason Fox with the 45th pick
Acquiring UFA OG/C Ben Hamilton to compete with Casey Rabach and Randy Thomas
Acquiring UFA NT Casey Hampton to anchor the 3-4 defense

Looks like we signed a former Bronco Center. He is young and I guess Shanahan likes him. Kory Lichtensteiger (http://www.nfl.com/players/korylichtensteiger/profile?id=LIC311468)

Definetely a good fit. Personally he was one of the guys I was hoping we would draft back in 2008. Hopefully Peyton Hillis is not to far away from coming here as well. Can't imagine that the Bronco's would keep him with Moreno and Buckhalter getting the majority of carries for Denver.

Hopefully the first of many o-line signings.

It looks like he was a forth round draft choice by Shanahan.
