Seriously, speaking of arrogance (see CP vs. JC thread), Charlie Weiss' ego is bigger than his waistline which is saying something. And my only problem with Clausen is that, for some reason, I think he reeks of major bust and I just don't see him being successful in this league...
I watch college football like it's my job and I'm telling you this kid he's not that good. He oozes of bust.

........is John Elway coming to?
Did Elway ever win a superbowl without Shanny? People keep throwing around the info that Shanny couldn't win without Elway. Well, Elway couldn't get the job done as well withouth Shannahan. Im guessing there was quite a few players that made the Shannahan/Elway era successful. We always give a coach or player to much credit.

Shanny also famously acquired the entire Browns defensive line. Transplanted it from Cleveland to Denver. And, with guys like Michael Myers, it wasn't that great of a defensive line.
yes,I do remember that

I dont know how to feel about this.It kinda seems like we still have a puppet GM if Shanahan has final say on everything.I dont have the info to back it up,I have a good friend in Denver that says Shanahans personel moves were terrible, great coach, terrible talent evaluator.Didnt Shanny spend a high draft pick on that loser RB,cant remember his name.I want Shanny as the coach, not the final say soer
I'm not totally thrilled on Shanahan having final say on personnel either-though I'm sure there will be a strong staff supporting and informing him-Shanahan is notorious for being a risk-taker in personnel decisions. So we'll have some head scratchers for sure.
But I'm excited about Shanahan the coach and Kyle Shanahan the OC

Why the hell is Snyder always having these guys spend the night at his house. I'm sick of hearing these stories about these coaches going to his house after a night of dinner. Sounds like a honeymoon night after these guys 'consummate' their relationship by signing the dotted line of their contract.
Just grosses me out. Shanny is up $7M, I think he can afford the penthouse suite at the Four Seasons in downtown DC.
I'm not comforted by the fact Shanny is literally getting into Snyder's bed tonight after being wined & dined & $6.9'ed.
You really do get riled up about the most inane things don't you? It's not like Snyder lives in a 2 bedroom apartment you know

I heard on the radio its a 5 year deal worth 35 million. Is that the going rate today for an NFL coach?
It's much less than what Shanahan was originally asking for. That's all I know

Do you know if this means Shanny will have final say on the draft SmootSmack? I would expect him to have a strong imput but I'm hoping BA has final say in that area.

Im lovin the breath of fresh air swept into the franchise.
This whole decade is starting out in a better way than Snyders first decade. I hope it is the rejuvination of this franchise that every fan has looked for since JG was re-hired.

I think Snyder's statement that nobody is satisfied w/ the team's record over the last two years shows he has learned very little. Refresh my memory, was his team any good before he hired Zorn? The last decade of failure is Snyder's failure...he's got a few dopes fooled but the vast majority aren't ready to take him serious.
I hope Mike brings a passion to win and he and Allen make the football decisions while Snyder stays out of it. I think we'll only know if this is the MO in a couple years, based on the W-L record.
They'd been to the playoffs twice in four years before Zorn. Plus owners are usually going to just refer the prevous regime. I mean I could be wrong but I don't think when the Lions hired Jim Schwartz they were like "for just about the entire franchise's history we have failed to live up to our expectations..."

Executive vice president of football operations. What a joke. Florios comments mirror my own. Different people. Same old redskins.
For real...it should have been Bill Cowher EVP of Football Operations. Right!
