Honestly, my road rage for these type of people has gotten to the insane point lately. It goes against all my morals and values but I followed one of these idiots into a gas station (getting gas, not just following) and I was closer than I've ever been to walking up to them and being like, "Seriously, let me give you an f-ing driving lession douchebag."

Now, I'm not a perfect driver by any means, but I think some people are so nonchalant about driving, they don't get in the right line unless they have a reason to, otherwise, they're like, "Why exert any more energy than I have to to move my steering wheel?"

What these people are is oblivious. They live in their little donkey-dick worlds where consideration for others around them is not important. It sounds so wrong but if someone is driving the speed limit in the left lane and backing up traffic I literally want to pull up next to them and bump them off the road. I know they're following the law and it's pretty unhealthy to think that way but their complete lack of attention to what is happening or complete lack of consideration about it is infuriating.

My wife says the same thing.

And your overall opinion is EXACTLY how I feel. I hate that something like this bothers me so much, but this behavior alone I think is the reason for a lot of road rage on the road. Say I'm just chilling in the right lane going 72ish like I do in a 65 and some jackass who is just driving in the left lane is barely passing me at 73, all these people want to get in the right lane and get on my ass. And THEY they get pissed at ME for not going faster so they can pass the person the left!!

I actually laughed at those stickers, but as soon as I read their whole idea behind them, my rage grew to new levels. Basically these people are assholes who think they speed limit doesn't apply to them and you better get over when they come blowing up your rear end.

Yeah, many of those jerks DO drive Subarus like that too.

Man I never really knew how bad I was ticking people off and boy it feels great. Whats really fun is when your in the left lane and you have a car to your right and then a car tail gating you. Slow down a little so the car on the right starts to pass you then watch the guy behind you jump over into their lane. Just as the car tail gating you starts to pass thinking he can get past you speed up some. Now you start passing the car on the right and the tail gater jumps back behind you. You get just far enough infront of the car to your right so the car tailgating just cannot pass then you start to slow down again. Do this over and over again and see how many times the tailgater will go back and forth or just give up.

As a younger driver on here I feel my pov might differ from everybody else. I like to consider myself a weaver, I'm always looking for that open stretch to get around a slow person. I do find myself tailgating on occasion, but that's more due to paying attention to my mirrors for slightly too long to notice i'm creeping up on someone.

For everyone who lives in NOVA and knows how horrible the rush hour traffic is that I sit in Mon-Fri when I'm going to work at 5-7 am and going home after 4 pm, well it's safe to say I never get the opportunity to go 70 mph at any time. It's gotten better in the mornings because I go up 95 from Woodbridge to my job in Springfield, and they just recently opened that 4th lane that's helped ease the congestion somewhat, but I still manage to find myself behind all the slow drivers all the time. I'm sure it doesn't help that I love to speed, that I love to weave, and love letting people know what I think of them slowing everybody down in the left hand lane.

Now I've been commuting like this since mid-June, and I find that the middle lane is the best lane to be in for various reasons, especially on the way home. Mainly because the left hand lane is always choked up with drivers that somehow think that it's the fast lane, even though half the time it's completely stopped while the two right hand lanes are just cruisin by at like 20 mph. And I can understand drivers going slow in the right hand lane because that's where they're supposed to be at. So I don't get mad at those drivers but I do get mad at the drivers who feel like they're somehow doing the right thing by slowing everybody down in the middle or left hand lane.

So yes I could understand that my pov is different from everybody else's, and fyi I've been that driver before firstdown, you know the one trying to get around all the slow drivers but you just can't for reasons mentioned above, but it is what it is. I figure with age and circumstances changing, like having a kid or wife/family in the car, I will become a more peaceful driver, but until then, it is what it is. In my perfect scenario I wish all the drivers who go slow just to be safe would drive only in the right hand lane, and the middle lane would be for the drivers who don't want to go slow but don't want to go fast either, and all us speedaholics could just drive as fast as we wanted in the left hand lane.

But I do consider myself a somewhat responsible driver. I never, ever, get into a different lane without checking my mirrors and blindspots and using turn signals as well to let people know my intentions. I may be weaving, but I'm also considerate of everybody else trying to do their thing, meaning I don't try to cut into a different lane if there isn't adequate space to do it.

So basically I have my bad tendencies but I also have some good tendencies. That's better than some drivers I've encountered in the traffic hellhole known as the DMV.

Don't drive 55 in the damn left lane .... LOL !! I also hate the " sleepwalkers " who get all the way over in the left lane , so they can enjoy the open air at a snails pace. If you want to move slow , stay in the freakin right lane or keep your rear parked on your couch .

Do you just constantly cruise in the left lane? Do you get over after you've passed someone provided the person behind you is keeping a safe distance? If so, that's all good. As long as someone is passing, I'm A-OK. Most of the left lane drivers are so unaware of their surroundings they aren't even using cruise control and just fluctuate speed kind of like you're describing above, but not consciously. I think THAT'S what drives us all nuts.

Now, if you do that behavior on purpose, that's a real dick thing to do. I totally understand though if someone is tailgating you. I hate tailgaters myself.

Basically, my driving patterns are I go about 5-7 miles over the speed limit, I use signals every time, I never tailgate and I immediately get into the right lane after I've passed someone.
