One thing that worries me is I've seen him walk away from Gibbs looking absolutely disgusted. Especially with clock management issues. Just hope there's not a rift between those two coaches.
Yes, I've noticed that too.

I haven't seen any of this since the first couple games. Gibbs hadn't done it in 12 years, so his game management skills were rusty, but he has gotten much better the last few games.

GW may have sucked in buffalo cause the FO left him hamstrung (don't know, wasn't there), or wouldn't let him do what he felt needed to be done... the first thing he told gibbs was that he needed a list of concessions or it wasn't happening, and he got them...

1. A colleague tells me that Williams gets $1.8M per year as a base salary with some incentives. Winning the Super Bowl does not look like one he is going to cash in on this year but having the defense ranked in the top five in yards and ranked in the top five in scoring look as if they are within reach. So, let's say in round numbers he gets $2M this year as a coordinator. After a spin in Buffalo where he won an average of about 5 games a year, I don't think he's going to get a boatload of offers that dwarf $2M per. Please recall that the departed but hardly lamented Steve Spurrier won 5 games last year...
2. There are LOTS of defensive coordinators who have been REALLY good at their job who were less than wonderful as head coaches. So far, Gregg Williams falls in that category, so I am not salivating at the idea that he might be "being groomed" as the next head coach here. Consider please:
A. Buddy Ryan
B. Richie Pettibon
c. Ray Rhodes
D. Wade Phillips
E. Vince Tobin
F. Dick LeBeau
3. Yes, I do know that Bill Belichick was a defensive coordinator so you need not point it out here. Anhd please note that I did not put Tony Dungy on the list because I really don't think he was that great as a coordinator and I don't think he is just awful as a head coach either.
4. Greg Blache was the defensive coordinator for the Bears for a couple of years. The Bears defesne was mediocre with him there - nothing more than that. He got into a tussle with the Chicago press because they questioned him about why the Bears got so few sacks and shouldn't they blitz more. Blache said that "sacks were overrated" or something very close to that. He was a combination of a punching bag/laughing-stock after that.
5. Skins' coaches are paid waaay above the league norms. Williams is making $1,8M base salary. Mike Tice is HC in Minny and makes $1M this year with incentives. Del Rio in Jax makes $1.4M with incentives. Capers in Houston is making $1,8M this year (his 3rd year) with the Texans. If a coach leaves here, it won't be for the money; it will be for "something else".

He's got a really sweet deal here and it looks like he really enjoys what he's doing. Plus I'm sure Gibbs discussed long term commitment to him before he signed on.

He seems to be the protoge. Gibbs has brought him along, made him asst. head coach, and I think, when Gibbs is done, GW will take over. As far as tis season goes, he has been the most productive coach on the sideline. Perhaps, Snyder sees that as HC potential.

I still have this feeling, and I have no basis for it it's just a gut feeling, that somehow Gibbs will have Russ Grimm on his staff maybe as early as next year and Grimm is going to be a possibble successor

Gibbs and Williams couldn't look or behave more differently on the sideline. different philosphies?

3 words: Assistant Head Coach.
I think a successful Skins franchise for the next several seasons and a Superbowl win (hopefully) will see Gibbs retire in 4-5 seasons and see Williams take the helm.
But on the other hand I can't blame him for the offensive mess in Buffalo. It's still happening with an "offensive minded" coach. I think there are probably some off the field issues there AND in Oakland.
