Forget it. Let's just keep talking about how Brunell sucks, the game has passed Gibbs by and the refs keep stealing wins.
Wonder how Rothlisberger would have looked in Burgundy?redwagonskins 11-01-2004, 02:42 PM Forget it. The whole point of signing Brunell was that Gibbs didn't want to roll with a rookie QB. If he *had* been willing to do so, he would have stuck with Ramsey. In either case, no BR. FRPLG 11-01-2004, 02:51 PM I thin we should discuss something positive... Personally I felt like we finally had some semblance of an offense in the second half yesterday. Of course GB has kicked it into "don't lose" mode and wsn't blitzing much but even when they were we seemed a bit more cohessive. Of course Williams adapted beautifully and our D picked it up big time in the 2nd Quarter on. I think if we play that way against everyone else this eyar we are 5-2 maybe. Hopefully we're picking it up. SkinsRock 11-01-2004, 03:23 PM And what if the Skins drafted...anyone they didn't draft........It's totally irrelevant. There is no guarantee that he would be performing the same way for another team, and there is no point in even wondering about it. I'm still glad we picked Taylor (for now ;) ), but if we had picked Winslow, would he be injured? Would Taylor have gotten a DUI? Nope....No one knows what would have happened, so why bother even discussing it... redwagonskins 11-01-2004, 03:30 PM I said forget it. You can all stop piling on already. One of the interesting things about history is looking back at a series of events and evaluating alternative consequences. What if the US had lost Midway, the French had not aided the American revolutionaries, or Bill Buckner had not flubbed a roler up to first? There is value on looking back at decisions such as: when you have a top ten pick do you take the best player available or the best player to fill a need. That's all. Once again, forget I brought it up and keep on rolling with the everybody sucks threads... ZackMills 11-01-2004, 03:31 PM To answer your question, a whole heck of a lot better than Gibbs on the sideline. SmootSmack 11-01-2004, 03:36 PM redwagon, I think people got a little frustrated with this thread because for one thing it's the third or fourth saying the same thing. And secondly, once you start playing the "what if" game it inevitably has a snowball effect. What if we drafted Roethlisberger, what if Spurrier was still coach, what if Marty was still coach, what if Shuler and Westbrook lived up to their draft status, what if Joe Theismann hadn't been picked off by Jack Squirek. It could go on and on ChounsMan 11-01-2004, 03:43 PM I don't want to sound like the band leader here, but I started this whole discussion 2 weeks ago & after watching Big Ben play against that NE D, I'm convinced that he's going to be one great QB for years to come. Big Ben looked very confortable yesterday moving out of the pocket, stepping forward to elude the pressure, & checking off to his 3rd option. This kid would have been great in DC..!! :iamwithst MTK 11-01-2004, 03:52 PM I'll play along, I think Big Ben would look quite striking in burgundy and gold. Much better than black and yellow, red is more his color, it brings out his eyes. SmootSmack 11-01-2004, 03:58 PM I'll play along, I think Big Ben would look quite striking in burgundy and gold.
