I'll play along, I think Big Ben would look quite striking in burgundy and gold. Much better than black and yellow, red is more his color, it brings out his eyes.

What if Ramsey were in? What if Brunell didn't give up 5 defensive TD's? What if Taylor had played? What if Gibbs had used the clock better? What if, what if... If you think we don't "what if" in every thread then you need to reevaluate what is being written. If you don't want to play along, then like I said before, move on the to the standard "Fire Gibbs" and "Bench Brunell" threads. If you think that Big Ben's eyes would be highlighted by his Burgundy uniform, then I applaud your valuable insight ;)

You do have a point, if it wasn't for our brilliant what if analysis what else would there be to talk about? Point taken redwagonskins.

We should look foward not backwards...what are we going to do to beat the usually hapless until just recently Lions?

People have to understand something about Big Ben in Pitt, he got drafted by an orginazation that did not have a coaching turnover in the past 12 years. Which means that he was placed in an already established system. Look a Carson Palmer for example, he might as well be a rookie, but he is in a system that is only 2 years old. I mean Marvin Lewis is a good coach but he himself is still trying to find what will work and what wont.

Would Big Ben be just a good for the redskins as he is for the steelers? I dont know, but I would have to think that he would have his struggles for us being that our system is pretty much just starting. With Gibbs working to figure out what we need to do and what will work Big Ben probably would have some troubles along the way. But then again maybe not. Who knows???

i agree... big ben was set up to succeed... the steelers weren't that bad last year (most good QBs go to 4 win teams), they have a good running game, great receivers, a very solid Oline (ours isn't nearly as good), and decent defense and special teams... they also have system stability (12 years) and he had the coach's full confidence... They put him in a position to win without having to be godlike... but his 70.1% completions and 104 passer rating means that he's still a lot better than anyone really expected.

I agree that he does have talent, but he was put in a position to win which, IMO means that he can use his talent to move the ball and not to make up for other parts of the offense, such as a running game or what not. But by all means he does have a boat load of talent when it comes to a QB.

I know, I know, it's a totally different situation and Sean Taylor can be a great player, but right now it looks like the Steelers got the steal of the draft and we have a kid with great potential but a lot of baggage. As it looks now, had we taken Big Ben and not given up picks and a ton of cash to sign Brunell I can't help to think we'd be in no worse position and at least we'd have a franchise QB. Here's hoping Sean can straighten up and fly right.

who cares, we didnt draft him
