Real good guy and I'll remember his time in DC fondly for many years. GMScud 02-17-2010, 11:28 PM At least we got a 1st round pick out of it. I also like Al Thornton. mooby 02-18-2010, 06:43 AM Sigh. The demolition is complete. Butler and Jamison are out, Al Thornton, Josh Howard and co. are in. At least we finally got rid of Stevenson though, I'm kinda glad he's gone. And I'd be happier about Cleveland's first round pick if there wasn't like a 98% chance it'll be in the last five of the first round. dmek25 02-18-2010, 06:51 AM any chance this is the first stop for Jamison? maybe heading to Phoenix? jdlea 02-18-2010, 07:12 AM any chance this is the first stop for Jamison? maybe heading to Phoenix? Nah, this was Cleveland's second choice and it's definitely the better one. Amar'e wouldn't have fit very well there. This Wizards team looks a little crazy because you now have Thornton, McGee and Blatche. They're all similar players and none of them are particularly good NBA players, but they have "upside" and a good deal of athleticism. I don't see this working out very well for the Wiz. SmootSmack 02-18-2010, 07:26 AM Only 6 players under contract next year, potentially lots of room to maneuver in free agency. Definitely more of a financial trade, than a basketball one Longtimefan 02-18-2010, 08:31 AM Has this ever happened before in the history of the NBA? Halfway through the season the Wizards have purged their roster of the entire starting five that started the season. I'm happy for Jamison, Butler and Haywood, they have gone to teams that at least are in position to compete for a championship. That was not going to happen for them here. It's going to be interesting to see this team take shape for the future. FRPLG 02-18-2010, 09:05 AM Are they trying to position themselves for a run at the King? mredskins 02-18-2010, 09:20 AM Are they trying to position themselves for a run at the King? I was just thinking that. I think the King wants to be in the big apple. |
