Not surprising but none the less still sad to see. He is a TRUE Redskin if you ask me.
Samuels Will Hold Noon Press Conference on Thursday to Announce RetirementTheSmurfs22 03-01-2010, 09:31 PM Not surprising but none the less still sad to see. He is a TRUE Redskin if you ask me. SmootSmack 03-01-2010, 09:46 PM I think the press conference will be on Thursday at Noon (at least I think that's what I heard) And now with the Bears releasing Pace, he might retire as well. So three of the best LTs of the best decade could all be leaving the sport at the same time CRedskinsRule 03-01-2010, 09:54 PM He was one of the bright spots in a decade of mediocrity. Best of luck to you, Chris. wait... u can draft a top 4 LT to anchor your line and still have a decade of mediocrity? Longtimefan 03-01-2010, 10:01 PM Chris had the honor of doing something that may be considered rare, in his ten year career with the Redskins he had the distinction of blocking for ten different QB's. Hope he enjoys retirement as much as I am....He'll be missed. 53Fan 03-01-2010, 10:03 PM wait... u can draft a top 4 LT to anchor your line and still have a decade of mediocrity? Shows you how bad the franchise has been run the last 10 years. ;) SirClintonPortis 03-01-2010, 10:22 PM wait... u can draft a top 4 LT to anchor your line and still have a decade of mediocrity? Is this supposed to make a case for the draft QB crowd and the resulting hidden premise that having a good QB means not a stud LT is not necessary? GusFrerotte 03-01-2010, 10:49 PM I wish him the best. He is up there with the Hogs, Lachey, Tre, and the real old timer Skin linemen. Since he is young, he has a much better shot at not having major issues as he gets older, as long as he loses weight. GusFrerotte 03-01-2010, 11:04 PM Is this supposed to make a case for the draft QB crowd and the resulting hidden premise that having a good QB means not a stud LT is not necessary? I am not sure that is the case, since we drafted 2 QBs in the first round within that decade, so you can't fault the FO for not trying. Spurrier destroyed Ramsey, then Gibbs cut him, then Gibbs gets JC. The franchise went to shit when Dan showed Marty the door. Marty turned it around with Tony Banks for godsake, so you need more than a great QB to win. You could make the same case as Norv's late mid season firing as the turning point also. Norv still had an above .500 record and could still have made a playoff run. But we all know what started it all, when we thought the great Heath Schuler was going to be the shit and he was a total bust. That is what scares me about us gambling on Bradford. THese overhyped QBs are the ones that fail to produce most of the time. I like that Lefevour and Kafka did pretty well in the combine. Gmanc711 03-02-2010, 06:31 PM I'm really glad he's not coming back. Not that I wouldnt love Chris Samuels on the feild, but the thought of him risking the rest of his life is just crazy. He's thirty something, has all the money he could ask for... just live life with your family, Chris. You deserve it....Thanks for everything. tryfuhl 03-03-2010, 01:21 AM Chris Samuels, Walter Jones, Junior Seau (again) and Kurt Warner all retiring this year. Wow wow.. nfl, dare I say it, legends? |
