So technically our o-line right now consists of Levi Jones, Dock, Rabach, Montgomery/Rhinehart, and Heyer....with Jones and Rabach becoming UFAs in 6 hours.

Ruhskins 03-04-2010, 05:51 PM So technically our o-line right now consists of Levi Jones, Dock, Rabach, Montgomery/Rhinehart, and Heyer....with Jones and Rabach becoming UFAs in 6 hours. tryfuhl 03-04-2010, 05:51 PM In the event Randle EL is released it would nice if we could draft a player like Dexter McCluster of Ole Miss. as a punt returner. That may be a luxury at this point with so many other holes to fill. He's a small guy with a lot to offer but in the NFL would be considered one dimentional. With only five draft picks we're somewhat limited in what we can do. ARE has been released or will be, not sure if it's official. Pocket$ $traight 03-04-2010, 05:53 PM Lol, Albert Haynesworth is due a $34 million base salary in 2013. He will never see that. It is just a poison pill. RedskinMike 03-04-2010, 05:54 PM It is not good the WP article used the base salary number rather than the more important Cap number. Reason being there is a huge discrepancy between some of the players cap and base number. More importantly the cap is coming back in 2011 and now is the time to purge some these ridiculously over priced players. For example: 1) Andre Carter's 2010 base is listed at only $1.3M but he will take up $5.2M in the cap. At least according to our cap sheet. He ain't worth that. 2) Clinton Portis $10M+ for the next four years. Not durable enough for a $10m back. 3) Randy Thoms $5.4M...Bye Bye! 4) London Fletcher $7.1M the next two years. Love the guy...but. 5) Freddy Smoot $5.4M in 2010 and $6.9M! in 2011. Bye bye. 6) Todd Collins $3.5M Has to go. The only twp people I would want to see come back is Griffen and Smoot. Smoot is not worth $5.4M for 2010. So he would have to be be cut and hopefully agree to come back at $1M and play nickle back safety only. His days as a man cover corner are nearly gone. He can get away with it for a play or two but he can not start an entire game and be great at corner. Griffen at $2M is a bargain considering when he is healthy the guy is still a handful for most OL. Carter is a good player but he has not blossomed or lived up to the $5.2M cap space he will take up next year. No cap buddy mooby 03-04-2010, 05:55 PM Just saw on ESPN News ticker that Ladell Betts, Randle El, and Fred Smoot were released. That list should be growing soon. tryfuhl 03-04-2010, 05:56 PM lot of people here not skimming the thread first haha Pocket$ $traight 03-04-2010, 05:59 PM Not happy about Betts. We need running backs bad. As soon as he tore his ACL he needed to go. That is a two year injury for a young guy, let alone an injury prone older guy. I feel bad that Betts never got his payday after his big half-season in 06 but he chose to take the hometown discount. I wish him the best of luck. mooby 03-04-2010, 05:59 PM lot of people here not skimming the thread first haha Nope. I'm pretty bad about that, I usually browse the last page and look for information that was either quoted or just being posted and if I don't see anything I assume I haven't missed anything. In this case I just looked and assumed a bunch of people were talking about who they'd like to see cut haha. MTK 03-04-2010, 06:02 PM Rabach is close to a deal per a source on Twitter, not likely to hit the street tryfuhl 03-04-2010, 06:04 PM ARE on 106.7 now enjoyed time here, wanted more wins asked about diff between pittsburgh and here as far as business.. pitts was more family oriented/stable snyder = good owner, zorn was a good coach but didn't have what he needed to be successful line play was the biggest thing holding us back between injuries and not addressing depth |
