GMScud 03-30-2010, 11:32 PM You mean Derrick Morgan, MJ came out of the draft last year.
The top players in this years draft regardless of our need in my opinion is
1. Ndamakung Suh
2. CJ Spiller
3. Eric Berry
4. Sam Bradford
5. Russell Okung
6. Rolando McClain
7. Gerald McCoy
8. Joe Haden
9. Dez Bryant
10. Bryan Bulaga
Yeah, him. Fail on my part.
GTripp0012 03-31-2010, 12:46 AM Ummm......no Berry on your list......Really?Intentional omission.
First round value, elite ball skills. Mediocre play recognition skills make his ultimate ceiling a very good, but not elite, cover safety.
Schneed10 03-31-2010, 10:12 AM Sam Bradford to me is the best player in the draft and the rare 1st overall pick (likely) that can transform a franchise. If he goes to St. Louis I like his chances at one day playing at an elite level. If he comes to Washington to pair with Shanahan, I LOVE his chances at it.
His accuracy is not something you often see from QBs in college. If you watch Tebow and Clausen, you see receivers often having to wait for the ball on deep routes, or adjust stride to compensate for the throw. Bradford's throws are on a dime, so, so often. To me, he's the next Troy Aikman.
Question is, what would Aikman have been without Norv Turner and Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin and Jay Novacek and that offensive line? Good question, that's why Bradford's better off here than he is in St. Louis.
I want Bradford, bad.

Does Mrs Schneed know this. :pimp:
Schneed10 03-31-2010, 10:33 AM Not to belabor the Bradford lovefest I'm tossing out here, but I think it's worth noting. Yeah he played in the spread and yeah he'll take some time adjusting to a pro style offense.
But he has a ton of poise in the pocket. You can see on the tape countless instances where he was blitzed up the middle and had guys bearing down on him, but he stood in and delivered the throw without panicking, and without getting jittery. If you think about it, that's how he got his shoulder hurt against BYU. He had a safety bearing down on him, but he waited for the receiver to get open and delivered the ball accurately. Only then did he get driven into the ground and his shoulder hurt.
And that's not to say he's some statue back there waiting to get hit. He moves around in the pocket pretty well avoiding a lot of rush, just enough to buy time to throw. You can tell when he's avoiding the rush he's not looking to run, he's trying to buy the time for the WR so he can make a throw.
I see tremendous pocket presence, unbelievable accuracy, and an extremely well-grounded and smart guy. I think he picks up the pro-style offense relatively quickly and has a tremendous career.
TheMalcolmConnection 03-31-2010, 10:39 AM I've kind of jumped on the Bradford bandwagon after hearing about that Pro Day. Yes, that absolutely makes me a sucker for holding a lot of stock in that, but you're right, his accuracy is nuts.

And it's not just in a pro-day in shorts with nobody rushing him. The tape shows he calmly drops dimes even when dudes are about to crush him.
Lotus 03-31-2010, 11:18 AM ^ and Bradford is not just supremely accurate, he has a lightning quick release. With accurate throws and a quick release, a QB can go far in the NFL.
SmootSmack 03-31-2010, 11:33 AM Having pored over several "coaches" tapes of the top prospects, the two guys who excite me the most are Bradford and Spiller. I would be thrilled with either of them at 4 and then an OL in the 2nd. I don't feel we have the luxury or resources to trade up to 1 to get Bradford so I wouldn't go for that. But whoever gets those guys is going to be very lucky. Then there's Dez Bryant, who is possibly the biggest question mark. I think Skinsfan69 but it best. Ultimate risk-reward
skinsfan69 03-31-2010, 11:47 AM To me Eric Berry is going to be a can't miss. The guy has the work ethic, he knows how to tackle, he's a leader and he's a playmaker. He's exactly what this teams needs. IMO we should seriously think about drafting him.
