Yeah.. McPhee finds good prospects but I'm not sure all of our trades helped us a lot, this year anyways.. need more defense too.. I wonder if Green's issues have been due to his increased role on offense or he's just a choke artist, leaning towards the latter
we definitely need to have more of our guys play both ways

Green is a great goal scoring defenseman, but he sucks at his position- defense. I can't stand him. We have enough goal scorers on this team. We need our defensemen to play DEFENSE.

yah how many times can you cough it up in your own zone
it just seemed like we were playing in slow motion.. no urgency or direction

I'm officially pissed off. The Caps are the only pro sports team I have that's worth a shit (yes, the Redskins aren't worth a shit until they prove otherwise) and they killed me tonight. Gross.

ESPN keeps saying that this is the first time a #1 seed has blown a 3-1 series lead to a #8 seed, but didn't the Bruins do just that to then #8 seed Montreal like 5 years ago? A close friend of mine is a Bruins fan and he swears it happened about 5 years ago.
Anyone?
I think you're thinking of 2004 when Montreal came back from down 3-1 but Boston was the #2 seed that year. Montreal beat #1 seed Boston in 2002, but that series was 4-2.
And, of course, the Canadiens' goalie for those series...Jose Theodore

Correct!
If anyone wants to jump on the Bruins band wagon feel free. They are real starting to come together and Savard will be back for this series. Plus the Flyers are banged up.
Caps should make a play on Tim Thomas i nthe offseason since Rask has been lights out of late.

That Montreal goalie was like having a brick wall in front of the net. :frusty:
Now I'll have to revert to rooting against Monteal, Vancouver and Boston.
Crazy Prediction: Flyers vs. Sharks in Finals.

The most recent example of what we're going through is what the Sharks went through last year.
The San Jose Sharks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Jose_Sharks) were the Western Conference (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Conference_%28NHL%29) regular season champions and the Presidents' Trophy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidents%27_Trophy) winners with the best record at 117 points.
Sharks lost 4-2, to the #8 seed Anaheim Ducks. I'm telling you one day both of us will get our act together and face off in the finals.

Sharks won't get there until the Caps do. lol. Our destinies are interlinked.

Together? Don't you mean they're patting you on the back saying "der, der, dun worry it's all gon b k" since they're still in the playoffs? Actually the funny thing about all this is that I've even seen Penguin fans that have feel bad for us.
Also I just wanted to point out that BB, since he took over as coach has never had a playoff series that didn't last 7 games. Flyers, Rangers, Pens, and Candians all lasted 7 games. We are now 1-3 in those game 7's. Hopefully our D guy take the next step in their development. Alzner, Carlson, Green, and Schultz should all make a formidable defense in front of a resurrected Varly and a surging Nuevy. Also we're going to need to give Neuvy a lot of reps next year since Varly has a tendency to get injured.
