SmootSmack 04-17-2010, 01:49 PM Didn't know about Whitehurst -- that could crush my theory.
Here's a question though:
If trading down meant that we would miss out on BOTH Russell Okung and Trent Williams, but you could collect picks in the second and third round, plus still have one somewhere in the 1st, would you bite?
Yes 11 times out of 10
johno 04-17-2010, 01:58 PM That would give us 5 picks in the top 100 and 7 picks total. Then it's possible that we could gain even more picks by trading JC and others. I'm beginning to wonder if the plan is to stock up on young players in what is said to be a deep draft.
wait, how would that give us 5 picks in the top 100? i was under the impression the only pick we have right now in the top 100 is #4. If we add two 3rd rounders, that would only bring our total top 100 picks to 3. i could be completely wrong, just wondering.
Beemnseven 04-17-2010, 01:58 PM ^ Okay, I guess you're assuming we'd still get a good O-tackle somewhere in the first?
CultBrennan59 04-17-2010, 02:13 PM We shouldn't take Williams over Okung..we just shouldn't!
backrow 04-17-2010, 03:31 PM Yes 11 times out of 10
Provided we could still pick up a late 1st rounder, I'd do that deal all day long in order to gain even more picks. I'd be willing to throw picks at the current roster in order to see what sticks!
Just wish we could have handled the 3 2nd rounders better a couple of years ago. Ahhh Vinnie. What were you watching?
Ohhh, that's right, with your bad eyes, you were looking in 2 different directions at the same time. Poorly, I might add.
backrow 04-17-2010, 03:49 PM Another source has us trading again with the e-girls.
Our old 2nd, their current 2nd, their 1st at #24, man, I'm salivating.

skinsfaninok 04-17-2010, 03:54 PM I wouldn't mind that trade! We need more picks, but I really want Okung
jdc65 04-17-2010, 04:12 PM Nice thread, something to look forward to on draft night.
I personally don't see Cleveland moving up for anyone but Bradford. Claussen should fall to them at 7 regardless, and I believe Holmgren won't take him if he is there.
I think Seattle will jump on T.Williams at 6 if he is there.
The Skins should select Okung over anyone else in my opinion.
I know the Raiders aren't happy with Thomas Howard, and the staff doesn't seem enamored with Rocky, very similar players. McIntosh would fit their system as a weak-side linebacker, and Howard might be a better fit as a 3-4 inside backer for us.
Any trade involving these 2 teams should also include these 2 linebackers.
Dirtbag59 04-17-2010, 04:26 PM If we do trade back I think we should prepare for Charles Brown but hope for Williams.

Yep, I think I would....There is some o/l dept in this draft. We have some holes that need to be filled, especially for this 3-4 we about to incorporate into our defense.
Thanks Haslett.....our defense is already straight. All we needed to do was tweak it. More agressiveness, better disguises, take away the 25 yard cushion the CBs we're given and add a couple of LBs.
Naw, we gotta give our defense a dam face lift in the very first year, knowing dam well we dont have no where near the personnel that we need for this switch over. Now the best DTwe've had in the last God knows how many years is pissed and ready to leave. I HATE this shit....
