I would love to pick him up for a year or two, BUT he also has never played in a zone-blocking scheme and I'm not sure he still has enough left in the tank mobility-wise to fit into Shanahan's offense.

We did well in the draft. Trent is definitely starting. We also have a backup Center/Guard in Erik Cook and Selvish Capers was projected mush higher than 7th and could easily make the team as a backup tackle. We also added a FB to eventually step in for Sellers.

The WR we drafted could be our returner too.

We didn't have any huge names after Williams, but every one of the guys we drafted can not only make the team, but contribute. Even our 7th-rounders are great picks and values.

Allen and Shanahan made a draft with very few picks into a very productive draft class. I think they did great with what they had to work with. It's not often you can realistically see every pick making the team, but I think these guys could do it.

I think we should pick him up right now. Our offensive line is so freakin bad that anyone we pick up would be a huge upgrade....................................I mean, how many different right guards did Buges have starting last year? Was it five? Six? It was kind of hard for me to keep track. So, adding a very good guard would be a great move for this team. It certainly wouldn't hurt. Thats for sure.

As I understand it, our line will look something like this:

LT - T. Williams
LG - Dockery
C - Rabach
RG - ?? Mike Williams
RT - Hicks
Backups: S. Heyer, C.Rhinehart, two draft picks

Actually not a bad line.. We just need to get reliable backups so when the first team goes down our QB doesn't buy life insurance. Williams will have to beef up before he's any good at taking on DE's in our division, but he'll be okay after a while. Dockery is decent and still less than 30.. Rabach is okay but older & I'd like to get a better bigger center at one point.. and Mike Williams sucked at tackle but perhaps guard might be better?? And Hicks -- hope he does well at the RT position, I read somewhere he'd probably be starting there..

Anyway, as long as Heyer is on the bench, I think over time this line will get better.

I'm really not sure if Faneca would be a good fit in the zone scheme vs. the power schemes he's been successful in previously. My guess is we'll pass on him.

I'm not a fan of bringing in Faneca, but i do think we should sign Flozell Adams. I'm not sold on Williams being able to start at LT immediately and I think he'd benefit immensely from being able to play RT for a year. Hicks, Dockery, M. Williams and Rinehart could then compete for the two starting guard spots.

Faneca would def help us out. We could use another proven lineman. I say take a look at Adalius Thomas too before Rex Ryan locks him up.

I just heard on the radio that Thomas was released by NE about an hour ago.

Not saying that we're as experienced at football than coach Shanahan, but I do think this would be a smarter move than allowing a rookie play the blindside of McNabb. Sign Flozell. He has a grudge against the Cowboys who we open up against. Trent would be much safer as the right tackle..and then we would have great depth at tackle and guard because Heyer and Hicks would probably become backups instead of starters somewhere.

Sign Flozell to a 1 year deal and it stabilizes the line.

ummm...the past two or three seasons, we've seen rookies step in at left tackle and do very well protecting the blindside. I think if Trent keeps his head down in camp, he should be the starting left tackle on opening day.

I surprise Tony Washington did not get drafted at least in the 7 rd. I guess because of his past record and him having to register as a sex offender scared teams off. I think he was 18 and the girl was 16-17 yrs old and she had consentual sex with him. To all fools a minor can not have consentual sex because she is underage. So any ways maybe we can sign him as a UDF he deserves a 2nd chance in life its not like he is a child molester. He played at TCU OT.

It depends on the state. Georgia is an exception, I believe that the age of consent is 16 but she has to be within 2 or 3 years of the guy. It's been almost 4 years since I have lived there so I cannot recall exactly.

You may find yourself asking how/why I would know something like this. Well, contrary to popular belief I am not a pervert. As a former leader of young American soldiers (ages 17-19) some of them are still into those younger HS girls between the ages of 16-17. Now we would always advise them to just stick with 18+, but to cover the bases we would always recieve briefings on what the law says so that we knew when we could or could not punish them for these sort of things. FYI regardless of the State's Law no civilian Females or Males under the age of 18 are allowed into the barracks.
