Re: Jets will release Faneca
Could be another Pete Kendall tpe of situation w/out giving up draft picks. The old regime would've already traded for Faneca. lol.

Re: Jets will release Faneca
If he came here does he move to right guard since we have Dock at left? I think he's been a left guard his entire career.

Re: Jets will release Faneca
Ironically he might make more sense for the Bears.

Steelers are recollecting old flames. I mean they already got Randle El, McFadden, and Foote. Plus they want to get back to Steeler football.

Re: Jets will release Faneca
This is how it's done. Just wait for the market to set itself. There's n need to jump the gun, overspend, and/or trade draft picks away.

Would be a fantastic acquisition after not drafting too many o-linemen in the draft.

Re: Jets will release Faneca
Can you blame him? We followed the exact same position pattern in rounds 4-7 as we did last year in rounds 6-7 (LB, FB/TE, WR). I was convinced before we picked Cook that the pick was going to be a corner, safety, or punter.

Should we really even bother hyping up another free agent? Guys we're not signing him... Get your head around it.

Re: Jets will release Faneca
I'm worried about a 33yr old that actually pushes our average age up, but if he's still good I wouldn't be opposed for a one-year stint. Ppl were talking about Flozell before as well. A couple of FA's out there, and probably more to come over the next months. I'm starting to trust Shanahan will make a smart move..
I'm impressed he kept Haynesworth after all that talk. I was scared he would just dump him like Holmes, for less than his value. It's much smarter to keep him if you don't get a good offer.. |

Re: Jets will release Faneca
The Redskins do not know who can play right guard right now. Nobody has been designated as the starter. Hick is a right guard who the Skins have working out at right tackle. Mike Williams was drafted as a tackle who they have working out as a guard. I mean WHO IS THE SKINS RIGHT GUARD.
I know of a pro bowl guard who is a free agent right now. SIGN HIM UP! No brainer. |

Re: Jets will release Faneca
I heard that Faneca has lost some of his abilities. He may not be any better than what we already have signed up. Plus we just drafted a couple of OLs.

Re: Jets will release Faneca
I have to think the left side of the line is set with Williams, Dockery, and Rabach. No way we bring in an aging Faneca to compete with Dockery.
