yea, ESPN is to blame but so is Favre/Childress.

they are the ones that plant these monthly "he's undecided" and "vikes say favre has no timetable" and "childress says favre can take his time."
sure, ESPN sucks them up and "reports" them as "news" but Favre, Childress and the Vikes could come out and say what we all assume: he's planning on coming back. we ALL know that favre/childress spoke and that's his plan and that they'll play the "undecided" game all summer so they both can save face when he skips camp again. if he was really undecided, there would have been more talk about Minny being in the mix for JC or Clausen.

i'm not saying the ankle surgery is a lie, but as someone else pointed out, it will be the perfect excuse for Favre/childress so that he can miss camp with a good reason. last year he technically hadn't signed so everyone was all about the hype and the newness of #4 in purple. but that's gone. he's under contract and as the leader on the field SHOULD BE AT CAMP. but he wont be. so i think they are playing games and i've lost a lot of respect for him. all this shit about how much he loves the game and is The Greatest Teammate just doesn't ring true. go to camp. a vet qb can surely have a lighter load and be excempt from a bunch of stuff, but he should be there. it's crap.

I wonder if he'll do his "pants on the ground" dance when changing into his surgical gown.

i also enjoy pointing out....

in that last crippling INT he threw in the NFC Championship game... it wasn't just "oh he shoulda-coulda ran for it instead of forcing the bad pass. watch the clip again, there's a Minn WR standing near the sideline all by himself. so if Bruise Warrior Favre technically couldn't run out of bounds and gain some yards for FG position, he didn't need to. there was guy about yards upfield, standing by the sideline, UNCOVERED, who would have caught it, made it a close FG or first down ( i forget the details) and he coulda stepped out to stop the clock. vikes to the SB. but no, favre fucked it up.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda. They wouldn't even have been in that position if it wasn't for him, but yeah that's pile on the blame.

Sorry but it just sounds lame to point out one play like that really proves anything. He had a great year and also played a good game up to that point.

no no, you're right... and the "farve fucked it up" was halfway kidding.

and while i dont like favre, i admit he was lightyears better than i thought he'd be in 2009, so hats off to him. but he's still a primadonna attention whore who has thrown 2 crippling INT's to lose conference championship games the last 2 times he's been there. i guess i just wish he'd walk the walk a bit more and just go to camp and not play this undecided BS all summer. the vikes HAD to know his plan before the draft/free agency so for them all to act like he's undecided is just a load of crap. like i said, go to camp, get the star-vet treatment of a light load, but be there to build rapport and timing that might end up helping in a critical situation that gets you to the super bowl.

The Vikes knew what they were getting when they signed him last year. I could really care less if he shows to camp or not, and obviously the Vikes aren't getting their panties in a bunch about it either.
